No, but he makes a pilgrimage to a certain house on Summerdale Ave in Chicago every now and then.

Easy, there. My bitter ass-shit is quite reasonably priced, and I'm no snob. I can enjoy bland, boring or cheap, shitty adjunct lagers (which is pretty much all that's available most places where I live) just as much as the good stuff.

It's not entirely accurate to say that Budweiser owns those brands and in no way accurate to say that they brew the beer. Redhook and Widmer (which owned Goose Island) merged to form Craft Brew Alliance, which later bought Kona. Between them they had enough clout to NOT get bought up and to get a distribution deal. Budweiser sells about 50% of the beer sold in America and is pretty dickish with their distributors (a Bud distributor can only distribute Bud). In order to get access to that distributorship network the Craft Brewers Alliance sold 25% of their shares to Bud (since increased to 32.2% now that the company is publicly traded).

So yeah, while affiliated with Bud, they aren't 'owned' by them. And none of their beers are brewed by Bud.

They brew Yuengling down in FL now. Wish they'd put a brewery West of the MS. That was my go-to 'cheap' beer and it was damn tasty. :(

Since I am NEW here I am a bit snippy, as you know certain people here love to harass the new members, just wanted to let you know. Where I live Craft beer is quite EXPENSIVE. I am sorry if I jumped at you.

Okay, so according to Wikipedia in 2011, Bud announced they were going to buy out CBA's stake in Goose Island, so I was wrong, it now is owned by Bud.

The other brands though are still independent.

Budweiser may not own them completely, but they do own a share of them, which is good for them as well because they can use Inbevs vast resources. The Kona beer I bought was brewed in St. Louis. It was a good beer. But you will see as time goes by the big companies will buy out the small ones.

Our local Budweiser Distributor (Dickerson) distributes Yuengling in Ohio, but does not own them either, but they bought a share.
