I drank a lot of Rolling Rock back in the day. Then they yanked the wholesaler deal from my friend's distributorship, so fuck 'em, fuck 'em with a rusty saw.

I recall the 6 packs being really cheap in the late 70's. Then all of a sudden it was some special beer and they raised the price. Fuck em!!

Yeah, probably not drinking one anytime soon, either.

Ahhhh, that might be why the price went up. :dayton:

Budweiser (Inbev) And Sab Miller/Coors starting buying up craft breweries a few years ago, so that craft beer your buying might be brewed by the big boys..

I try and stay away from the ones they buy up/own. I stopped drinking Magic Hat, no Shock Top or Blue Moon, and no Goose Island. My Dad is also very against supporting those companies.

Henry Weinhard? Oh no! That was the beer my family drank when I was growing up, one of the original craft brewers. So who owns them now?

Budweiser (Inbev) bought them about a year ago. I read it in a beer magazine about 2 months ago. Although they operate under a seperate company name, Budweiser owns them.

I used to like it, but my tastes have changed. It tastes...skunky...to me. Same with Rolling Rock, which I liked about 20 years ago but can't stand now.

    No.

Also, I never drank any of those beers you mentioned anyway, Larry. I did like Shock Top/Blue Moon when I just started drinking beer, though. I've now moved onto better beers anyways, so I'm not heartbroken to not drink that. Magic Hat was a big one to lose though :( I like their beer.

Never tried Shock Top but I have had a few Blue Moons, both with and without an orange slice.

It says something about your beer if you've got to put a piece of fruit in it to make it taste better.

If in a bar, you're supposed to throw the slice at the bartender when he turns his back. :ramen:

Yeah, I always felt like such a doofus whenever they brought me a drink with an orange slice.

Hate to tell you this but Budweiser brews Heineken in the US for them, they do not own them. And Heineken brews Budweiser products in Europe where they have no breweries. It's not a bad beer.

Like the lime in Corona, ANOTHER nasty beer. Tecate is an OK beer but it's a Miller/Coors Product.

I tend to drink Heineken when I'm in Florida. Normally, I try to find a good local beer, but in Florida, Heineken is about the only thing most places have that isn't Bud, Miller, or Coors. As for who brews it, I'm not concerned by licensing agreements. Bud follows the Heineken process and recipe, so it's real in my opinion.

It's TRUE, Heineken supervises how Budweiser brews it, Heineken on Draft, is WAY better than bottles or cans, It just seems fresher.

That seems to be the one @KatyJane drinks when she's out on the town, as long as she can get a slice of orange in it.

Don't get me wrong, Blue Moon is an OK beer. it's just not a "Craft" beer. If you gave me one, I'd drink it.

OK. All this alcohol talk is derailing an important thread. This is about how Starscape BBS posters are creepy pedophiles and it would be fun to troll them. Warnings all round. Comments to Moderator Actions.

Do we have a Moderator Actions? I really need to sit down and at least skim the manual.
