A Spanish last name? I saw it, but didn't notice that. My son bought the movie from a friend who was dissapointed that it wasn't a action movie. This (sort of) happened to me once! I had blood in my stool on several consecutive trips to the toilet, and went into the doctor. Of course, you get screened by a tech before you see the Flight Surgeon on duty. The tech was an E-2 (about 18 or 19 year old none-too-bright kid). He had an actual poop flow-chart/matrix and started asking me "was it this color? How about this shade? More like this?" How about those "smiley face" charts at the doctor - where you have to choose one to represent how much pain you are feeling. means the worst pain you can imagine means you don't feel any pain and all the stages in between. God I hate that shit. I just say "it just hurts, that's all. I guess somewhere in the middle." This of course pisses them off.
I just saw this last week and was quite disappointed. Let me first say that I absolutely loved Office Space. Idiocracy was a great idea but, in my opinion, poorly executed.
just watched it, and was pretty impressed - pretty funny, quite engaging, although it was a little slow at first. although i did find the rita/joe romance ironic, as that kind of relationship is the basis of many a really dumb movie...
I watched it a few hours ago with my friends, and I really liked it. I don't see it becoming a cult classic such as Office Space, but it was a good movie. Parts of it reminded me of the movie version of Hitchhiker's Guide. I can see our planet becoming exactly like this, unfortunately. Just look at the trend in parts of Europe. Italian couples average less than 1 child per marriage. Compare that to all the hillbilly parts of America, plus all the Mexicans popping out babies on our side of the border, and the future described in the film isn't far off. But overall, I can see why it didn't do so well. Not because the people it makes fun of didn't like it, but because it didn't really feel like a typical movie. I can't pinpoint it, but it was odd. Still, a LOT of really funny parts. I admit, I laughed at the stupid shit like Ow My Balls!, and realizing a second later that Mike Judge pulled one over on me. I also enjoyed the gigantic Costco, where Frito got his law degree.
The idea was okay, no more than that. Mostly dumb jokes, a few exceptions. I'd suggest reading a book instead
One of my friends said she felt like reading a book after watching that movie. Probably didn't help that "Totally Outrageous Behavior Caught On Tape" was on TV when we switched from the DVD to TV input.
Pulling a Necromancer just to admit that I watched this movie last weekend, and regret my skepticism. One of the funniest films I've seen in a long time. Still working on my wife to get her to call me "Beef Supreme," though.
Well, that was fairly entertaining. Not brilliant but funny nonetheless - and I'm afraid I'll have to agree with evenflow about his prediction about our future.
