...because I just had a great idea for a website that could make some nice ad revenue for at least 6 months--probably longer. LOLPolitics. It woud be basically an LOLCats website, only with press photos of politicians. I thought of it while trying to find back the algore "I has a Presidency/NOOO!!! They be stealin' my Presidency" photo. It'd be great, because both liberals AND conservatives would enjoy it. Hell, having both posting LOLPoliticians would actually increase the traffic (and hence, ad revenue). But because I'm too busy/lazy to do it, nothing will come of it.
So? Just because something's been done, doesn't mean it's been done well. Look at LOLCats. I'm pretty sure it is older than ICanHasCheezburger. But it sucks. Xerox had the first modern computer, back in the 1970s. They didn't do shit with it. So Apple built the Mac and it was a big success. Then MS released Windows and PCs got mice and they were an even bigger success than Macs. Apple built the Newton. And it sucked balls. Then Palm came along. Now there's all kinds of PDAs. That you don't know the URL of the site says it sucks compared to LOLitics.com.
Uh, you can't reuse wire-service pictures without permission. So, AP and so on would sue your socks off and you'd end up penniless. Beyond that, it rocks.
As a spin-off site, I would have sort of a mix between YouTube and LOLCats, where you could upload your videos and the software would speed it up and dub "Yakkity Sax" over it. It will be a great day when someone anonymously sends in footage of OJ, butchering Nichole.
