Seriously, the 1% could gain the power to snuff out the sun with their thumbs, and "libertarians" would think that right and proper.
The few public servants willing to speak openly of taxing investment income are only so bold because they know they have no chance of getting it done. They risk nothing themselves, but can still blame everyone else for "obstruction."
This is true. But if one is willing to speak up and others don’t support him - regardless of personal reasons, what is it if not obstruction. I mean, we can’t not do anything just because some doesn’t like what they perceive as the others motives. It doesn’t make sense to not insist it be fixed just because they all like it broke. That’s moronic.
So nothing ever changes. Thanks for your contribution. The rest of us will continue to fight for changes to inherently dishonest systems designed to favor a select few and fuck over everyone else.
Gonna compare a bunch of entitled fucksticks trading self-agrandizing memes on Twitter with nations engaging in actual cyberwarfare? Fuck off.
And yet, a good deal of Russian cyberwarfare IS posting memes. To shape public opinion. Y'know. Like media (social or otherwise) is VERY good for.
Oh god. You're talking about the dreaded "Misinformation campaign" that literally FORCED people to vote a certain way. Fuck off twice.
Okay, if nothing less than pure science fiction mind control has influence....why do shows still have commercials?
Sounds about right. Take 100 random people, the richest 1 has about the same wealth as the middle 60. If the average for that group is in the $50-100k range, that would mean the wealthiest one has about 60 times that, or about $3-6 million. Many homeowners in the biggest cities will have a big chunk of that just in the value of their homes. Own a 2000 square foot home in Missouri? You've got a few hundred thousand dollars in wealth. Own one in Atherton, CA and you're in the 1%. Left off the chart is the proportion held by the 19% between the (arbitrarily-defined) middle class and the 1%. Those folks ain't doing bad, neither! By the way, have you seen how cheap big TV sets have gotten lately?
I know I always say "I'm not an economist", but I have a hell of a better handle on economics than this fool.
