You say things like this, but you refuse to see nuance when it's "the other side". You and Paladin and Lanz all insist I (and others like me) state clearly without any nuance. Then bitch like this when we do.

Please, without being an ass, tell us how *you* (because it's all but you) want us to make an argument.

From the perspective of an individual, whose rights and agency are not trivialities to be casually sacrificed on the promise of more desirable collective outcomes.

And who decides what is trivialities? and when it's pointed out that it is, IN FACT, not a sacrifice of individual liberties, you, then, will not to bitch about 'slippery slope' or other bullshit "desirable collective outcomes", right?

Also, don't make arguments of trivialities that sacrifice an entire society for individual personal fetishes.

    :crickets:

I mean, either you think "fighting" only means killing, or "fighting" means changing society with "going through the process".
Well, part of "the process" is changing hearts and minds to your point of view so the legislation stuff can even happen.
And that includes protests, and in this day and age, yeah, it includes social media stuff.
I know that shit annoys you, because everything annoys you, but that is actually part of the goddamned process.

Christ, you don't want political violence, but you don't want peace, and you don't want winning hearts and minds (as evidenced in your goddamned Star Trek whining, and your sad attempt to derail the Bebop thread).
So you must just want stale status quo.
But you cry about the fucking status quo too.

So WHAT THE FUCK DO YOU WANT?!?!?!?!

What the fuck will EVER make you happy, and shut you the fuck up?!!?!?!??!
    WHAT??!!?!?

    It's nothing.
    It's nothing.
You're an infected wound that picks at itself.

Oh, right, "life is misery" and you seek to prove it by spreading grief everywhere you go.

    Well it's not life.
    It's your dumb philosophy.
    You chose a dumb philosophy.
    That simple.
And your pride won't let you admit it.
And it won't let you stop.
Your masochism is because of pride.
    End of.

If you are so concerned about someone making minimum wage, what are you giving, to at least one of them, to bring up their income to be what you think it should be?

Life is misery. That's one of the central beliefs of Buddhism. Life is suffering (misery) and suffering is caused by desire. Are you disparaging Buddhism, Dicky?

I continually vote for parties that promise boosts to wages.

I don't dodge taxes, though I likely could.

I have personally offered money to employees when circumstances have been tough - not all take me up on this and in some cases it has just been an interest-free loan.

Why? What the fuck have YOU done and why should I give a shit?

Well, if you want to get all holier-than-thou, I have provided assistance to some folks when they needed it and I had the capacity. I pay a buttload of taxes every year despite taking legal measures to reduce my exposure. And I vote for candidates/ballot measures that seem to make logical sense, not the ones that make me "feel better."

You'll note that ye were not the thou I was replying to. So not sure why you figure I give a toss, or consider myself holier than anyone except the guy I actually WAS replying to (whose history of being an advocate against free healthcare whilst knowing full well how expensive healthcare IS but being able to afford it is well-documented).

Ryan would be the guy telling other slaves not to complain. And the peasant telling the other serfs that the nobility are God's chosen and we must do as the Nobility says. I'm... partially with @Diacanu on this. If all you contribute is drive by statements without understanding the issue, don't engage.

I'm not necessarily going to go with that - I'm sure my own post count since 2009 isn't that high either. I tend to post when I have snark or something really on my mind, and I don't do a Blue Room thread.

I take trolling on face value - and it's certainly clear he plays the "both sides!" card just for his own shits and giggles.

In this case, he's not doing that, but he is being a twat so that's what I'll call him on.

I'm gonna be blunt. Your health issues are tragic, and I entirely understand why you have limited time to post.

But the fact none of this has taught you empathy makes you a cunt of the highest order. Your posts on the topic of healthcare (beyond praising it for keeping you alive) are reprehensible.

I think at one point he was complaining about universal healthcare and how no one should get a free ride, but at literally the same time was only able to afford his medical bills by other people giving him money

Having experience government managed/paid healthcare, I would not want anyone to experience that. I knew someone from England who had dual citizenship with the US and told me that the US should not get any government run healthcare. She would live half the year in each country and preferred the US.

You're a vet? Other than the VA I'm not aware of any government managed healthcare here.

Medicare/medicaid are government managed/paid insurance. This is very different from the national health service in England.

What issues have you had? Sorry if you've detailed these before.

He's confused. He's talking about welfare and where he was a child, some doctors refused to take Medicaid patients. So, to him, that means a UHC, which he's never experienced, would be a failure. He has no idea what he's talking about.
