Riiiiiiight. Like he's surprised that the American people view an election with the same mentality as a tabloid magazine.
"Is $150,000 for clothes and makeup a small town value?" I dunno...are we talking buying clothes for the entire town?
I seem to remember some bleating in the past about how $400 haircuts were a sign of unfitness for office . . .
Who cares anyway? It's not like she's billing the state or other taxpayers for it. The RNC is using voluntary contributions as they see fit. If donors don't want to give, they'll quit giving.
That's why I posted the other story. This one is kind of silly, and causes no direct harm, though it does have some embarrassment potential for Palin and the RNC. Charging for family travel, though, that's just not cool. I'll look for a story on the per diems she charged for nights she stayed in her own house. That should make for some more interesting discussion.
She had her look down when she showed up on the scene. I'm sure $150,000 is chump change for the hordes of stylists, consultants, and succubi that went crazy over her within the first few days of her candidacy.
The look. yes. But I'm betting her personal wardrobe showed signs of wear and cheapness. Back in the Studio 54 days, the doorman would pick and choose who could come in. No matter how good you looked or how well dressed you though you were, those guys knew the difference between $59 shoes and $250 shoes. And man in a suite from Sak's is not the same as the suit from Men's Wearhouse. You need THE LOOK of class, smarts and money. And your sister hooking up your hair ain't gonna cut it. You can clearly see the difference in a dress that has been worn and washed a number of times. Men's ties. Fugehedaboutit!!. If your not wearing at least a $100 tie...scram!!
I'm betting that's just what the RNC said when they decided to improve her look. You should be a consultant, you could've gotten some of that green.
I'm thinking that five children means most of her shopping is not at Sak's. If the RNC wanted to get her to pass Mewa's Studio 54 test, $150,000 was probably well worth it. Afterall, there's probably a few million who will vote on looks alone. That is a really good bang for the buck.
You're not gonna catch Obama or McCain in an old suit. Its gonna have crisp lapels and tight shoulders. There won't be any missing cuff buttons or hanging strings. And for those guys, when I said $100 tie...that was the low end. Edit: Thank you mister dickhead. Pure abuse of rep system.
Sadly, you're right. And it's not like they're wearing these suits out, either. They're going to be impeccably cleaned and maintained and the lightest sign of wear means they're donated to charity or something.
If I ever blow $100 on a fucking tie, it will be right before I shoot myself in the head for finally succumbing to the commercial superficiality disease.
Actually, it was about John Edward's cry for class warfare - blame the rich - at the same time as he was buying millionairre haircuts. Some noticed that that tended to undermine Edward's credibility. But you're a proven liar anyway, so this isn't really a reply to you - it's just a general reply, because it was so easy to reveal the lie.
lol Out of rep. Took me a second too, I'd nearly forgotten about that little matter of adultery while the honey was in chemo.
Wow. The Left has shifted back to smearing Palin over non-events. This, to me, is a more telling bellweather for the election than the polls. That and marathon's absence.
