It's not supporting the exposure of "embarrassing" information that's the problem; it's supporting the hacking of government systems by foreign spies in the hopes that embarrassing information will turn up that's a problem, and it's a problem exacerbated by a complete lack of concern that foreign spies might actually look for things other than politically embarrassing documents.
