https://www.theguardian.com/world/2...ws-annex-large-parts-occupied-west-bank-trump Specifically citing the license granted by Trumps presence in office, and also to drum up support from extremists in Israel to distract from his other issues, Netanyahu has announced his plan to steal a third of the remaining Palestinian land in the West Bank. The two-state solution is increasingly moribund. This will make the quasi-apartheid situation that exists much more stark and will mean that Palestinians will need to campaign for their rights within the Israeli state.
Unbelievable that such a small geographic area has caused so much trouble. Best to just pave over the whole area and build a Trump Casino.
I have a map where I determined the borders of a future Palestinian state largely based on parts of the West Bank plus compensatory territory south of the West Bank in unpopulated parts of Israel and likewise in a strip of Jordan. I planned on Jericho becoming the Palestinian capital.
What's dumb about this idea @RickDeckard? I thought you were in favor of a two state solution for the Palestinian issue. ?
Unpopulated parts of Israel are unpopulated for a reason. And it's bizarre for someone to have created a "plan" with a map for no particular reason. You're not going to be President.
As one of my previous head coaches told me "Always have a plan in case you have an opportunity". He was talking about the opportunity to become a head football coach of course. He was right. I think not having a coaching plan cost me at least one or two head coaching jobs.
There are innumerable things that you could plan for, some likely to arise (such as coaching jobs) and many not. You chose arbitrarily to make a plan to solve a geopolitical dispute, implying that you feel there is at least some chance you'll get to put it into practice. And that is deluded.
Really? So if Russia placed a settlement in Nevada tomorrow and started annexing swathes of the US there'd be no justification for fighting back?
No. That was Palestinian land. It was taken from them by the Allies in order to home the Jews. Now the Jews are dominating the region and taking more of the land by force. And no, the US does not have "super sovereignty", it's just a silly term you made up.
No, it's ok, the UK has uber sovereignty. We will now annex the EU and the US and any attempt to stop us would be outright villainy to be condemned.
Incorrect. The Israelis took the land in question from Jordan which joined the war against the Jewish state (quite unnecessarily) in 1967. Prior to that, modern day Israel was about half the size it is now and there was an embryonic Palestinian state basically alongside it. But when Israel fought back against attacks by their Muslim neighbors (attacking from literally all sides with overwhelming numbers) Israel doubled in size and the Palestinian state was destroyed.
So it was taken from a Muslim neighbour and then the Israelis "defended themselves from attacks"? Surely taking the land and putting a settlement there was the "attack" and the response was the "defence"? Reminds me of that scene in Solo where an Imperial officer refers to the "hostiles" and Han points out "It's their planet, doesn't that make us the hostiles?".
You do realize @Dayton Kitchens does not have morals and feels himself to be superior? Yes, we all know he is a donkey fucking ex assistant gym coach from arkansas with multiple personalities, but he thinks he is great. He has super superiority in his kitchen where he beats his 3rd wife and drinks himself retarded. This is why he is named kitchens. His kitchen is the only place he is respected.
Good. The Palistinians have had numerous chances to make peace, they always refused, so it is fitting they suffer for their obstinacy. Deport every last one of them to Jordan which was originally supposed to be the Muslim portion of the mandate anyway.
You must have a screw loose. This is a response to decades of Arab terrorism, wars, and refusals to make peace. Of course there was going to be consequences for Arab crimes, there simply MUST be consequences for Arab crimes, and I personally believe the Israelis have been far to kind and giving towards the terrorist cockroaches.
While I don't favor deporting anyone--and I think Israel annexing more West Bank territory at this point is pretty gratuitous--you're right that the Palestinians have foregone several opportunities to negotiate. Each time, their intransigence has left them worse off. They're like the gambler who keeps going double or nothing...and losing.
