What is this thread about? Do you think that kind of action is likely to cool tensions or inflame them?
Be honest. If Israel withdrew entirely from the West Bank, Gaza, and everywhere else do you reasonably think that the Palestinians would simply "leave Israel alone"?
I don't think it is possible for Israel at this point to inflame tensions with the Palestinians. Now answer my question.
That is a double dumbass on you moment. I am pretty sure they can be worse, but I am not giving them any credit for holding back on the immoral scale.
I see @RickDeckard is not going to answer my question. Thus it is reasonable to assume that he knows what I'm saying is true. It doesn't matter what the Israelis do. The Palestinians will still hate them and still try to kill them. I'm reminded of a cartoon we used to have up at my Walmart in the back where customers couldn't see it of course: A person in a store was confronting a woman irate over the product she bought and he told her: "Ma'am we'll refund all your money, give you a new one free of charge, burn down the store, and have the manager shot! Will that satisfy you?"
if they had you shot I would certainly call that excellent customer service on a survey. Let me know when you get a job again, and if they offer that option.
Dreadful analogy, but I'm with you on this. Although, actually: Palestinian kids throw rocks at IDF. IDF brings in tanks and levels their homes. So, yeah. Maybe not so inapt after all...
However to be perfectly honest, rocks can kill people. One of my friends killed his mother with one. Spent four years in prison.
Why? Proportional response allows the provocateur to determine the course of events and level of violence.
So if a kid throws a rock at you, you think you're justified in destroying his house and his neighbors' houses?
Depends. I would have to know a lot more about the situation. And is the kid in question an American citizen? That would make all the difference to me.
No, Dayton. I just have other things to do. If Israel vacated the land that they have stolen to the extent that you suggest, it would form the basis for a two-state solution and a permanent peace deal. Thus it absolutely would reduce tensions. These options and others are open to them. That they choose not to take them demonstrates that peace is not their priority. Expansion and domination is.
The convoluted thought processes you have indicate severe head trauma so I assume you might have forgotten the incident being it was probably violent and traumatic. Your parents probably didn't notice because they were too drunk or involved in other activities I don't care to think of. You should donate your brain to science given how you have survived all of these years with such massive injuries.
Well, Netanyahu appears to have lost the election and is trying to form a "unity government" now, which presumably will have him as a junior partner. My understanding is that if he isn't PM, he won't have immunity and could be going for a nice long spell in jail. Fingers crossed for that.
Apparently he wants to have a rotating PM, with himself as one of the two. I’m guessing he believes that is enough to shield him.
"Rotating PM" my arse. "Let's just completely change the entire political landscape in an absurdly impractical way so I can avoid jail time", that's a new one. Oh, wait....
The Trump Administration continues to side with the crazies in their base, sucking up to Netanyahu, who apparently is still trying to form a government. In between regularly massacring women and children in Gaza, that is. US says Israeli settlements are no longer illegal
