I believe everyone understands and agrees the respecting privacy is an important issue. Making a strict code to be obeyed only invites loophole hunters.

I've no problem with listing obvious examples like name, address, phone number, place of work.

But I don't agree with everything being fair game if a member posted personal info anywhere at anytime on the internet. There's a difference between something shared on Wordforge and somebody scouring the internet for any thing they can use against another member.

    I agree.

Keep the discussion going. I am keeping up with this. I'm just handling things as they come across my desk and there is some small, purely housekeeping, business that's in front of this. Note my other two threads.

Which again makes me ask....why does everything have to take an age and a half to get done?

You know what was awesome...someone asking about the rep given hack, it was read, answered and implemented at warp speed. That kicked ass and it would be great if more stuff could get done like that. :techman:

I agree with you in some situations, but in the case you mentioned, well nothing could ever go wrong with swiftly cramming hacks onto the board could it? :D

    Touche.

But I am referring to in General...and the fact that issue was noticed and dealt with, with alacrity. It just happened to be a hack related issue. ;)

That list makes it look like flaming and trolling are allowed everywhere.

Is there to be a paradigm shift?

Here's an update including Lanzman's and Tamar's suggestions:

    What's the policy on duals?

Again, input is welcome from everybody. :)

"Duals may be deleted at the whim of the administration, so they had best be entertaining and inoffensive if a poster wishes to keep using them. Duals of banned members are not allowed and will be banned or deleted on discovery."

    IIRC.

Maybe be a bit more diplomatic.

    EDIT: my 8000th post!

Duals may exsist or be deleted at the whim of the administration. There is no inherent right to have a dual at WF, nor are banned members allowed to have them at all. Duals may be tolerated, banned, deleted, mocked or humiliated at any time. They are not considered "real posters" and have no recourse.

I guess a one line version would be:

Duals are not considered "real posters" and will be tolerated, banned, deleted, mocked or humiliated, at whim, with no further notification.

Are we going ahead with the policy of closing HD threads as soon as the issue has been resolved?

Yes, that should be the way to go.

Good job on the forum stuff, Clyde. :techman:
