That there are people far scummier than Sokar on this board.

    That is all.

Ah, selective outrage. I'd say I missed it, but was it ever really gone?

I'd say the response to his death is a demonstration of just how much of a prick he was. Other people who offer nothing but flaming, trolling, and rep warring, should think about that. If they are bothered by the idea that the recipients of such treatment might dance on their grave, maybe they should improve their behavior.

I'd also add that if you don't want to see people dancing on your friend's grave, call that friend to task when you see him acting like a dick instead of high fiving him. Sokar was a bully, and a good number of people pissed off by the response to his death never did anything but congratulate him for being an asshole. Live with the consequences of his and your actions.

Seems to me that anyone who is gone is no fuirther threat to one's sense of indignation and anyone who has a modicum of class would just keep their mouths shut instead of taking the opportunity to wave their e dicks in proclimation of some sense of justice served in their deaths.

That has fucked up written all over it, especially considering that the indignation proclaimed is the responsability of the recipient, being in charge of themselves and all that rot.

But it seems some have no control over their feelings and common sense is not so common.

I'm also reminded that most of the ones bitching were gone for some time and have returned. Go figure.

Everyone who thinks that being a bully is funny is at least as scummy as Sokar was, and that's a lot of wordforge.

All the people shitting on Sokar are ipso facto better people than those in a huff over his being treated as a bully should be treated.

The only person has come close to that is Liet. The rest of us have said it sucked he died, but we won't miss him because we didn't find him to be a good person. To extrapolate that to your little moral quivering is a bizarre thing. Cancer sucks, dying sucks, try not to be an asshat before you do, because most certainly, something is going to get you.

    Physician, heal thyself.

Why would you think people that didn't like Sokar have no control over our feelings? You presume a hell of a lot.

People come and go as they chose. That's their right, and your head is up your ass if you think it proves anything other than what was going on in their life at the time and their own priorities.

No, we should do everyone. Pretend they're dead. See what people would say about them. Garamet, Dayton, Scorp, Tamar, Liet, Actormike, 14th, Diacanu. Just get it out of our system now.

If the truth about Sokar hurts Bear's feelings that's a problem with his feelings, not with the truth. If the truth seems unkind then perhaps Bear's better off discarding any kind feelings he has towards Sokar rather than discarding the truth.

The truth is that Sokar was a bully with no apparent socially redeeming value. The truth is that even if he had some positive value that he kept well hidden there is nothing that can make up for being a bully. The truth is that the failure to call out a bully for being a bully is an act of moral cowardice. The truth is that encouraging a bully, chastising others for calling out bullies, and lauding the good nature of a bully in life or in death are all acts of moral depravity and anyone engaging in such acts is as bad as the bully or worse.

The best thing anyone can or should say about Sokar is that he will never bully anyone again, and if you feel the need to say anything better than that about him then you're a thoroughly despicable and pathetic excuse for a human being.

Will Sokar's reputation soften with time? We can only wait and see. However, I see no reason to continue to piss on his grave as Liet is currently doing.

In fact, Liet needs to be clubbed like a baby seal for engaging in this 24-hour campaign of vengeance. What was the worst that Sokar could do? Call you a pedophile and engage in rep war. That's it. Actormike & 14thdoctor figured out a long time ago how to deal with the pedophile insult, and rep warring could only bother you if rep was something you valued.

Liet's reaction to this makes it seem as if Sokar killed his firstborn and raped his wife. Give me a fucking break, this is a meaningless online message board that's 99% inane and 1% substance, not Keyser Soze going after the Hungarians who destroyed his family.

Really, how much courage does it take to trash a dead man's memory who never did anything to you?

Sit down and shut the fuck up Liet. You want to come after someone, come after me tough guy, at least I'm still alive to defend myself. Of course, you'd have to de-twaterzie yourself and take me off ignore. C'mon, I ain't scared of you, you fucking insignificant little gnat.

People are reacting far too vociferously to Sokar's death, and to the overreactions to Sokar's death. :diacanu:

It's possibly to understand just about all of the reactions we have seen, even if one disagrees with them. And those amongst us who would not celebrate the death of someone currently alive are few and far between, I suggest.

People should really try to be more measured.
