The Saints played the Redskins once, in 2009, during Haynesworth's tenure in D.C. Bush had one rush for no yards, four catches for 28 yards, and a punt return for a loss. Haynesworth sucked, although he actually had a pass defensed and even hit the quarterback once, which probably qualifies as one of his best games as a Redskin despite the suckitude.
The thing is, I like Reggie Bush a lot for what he does. He can catch passes, grind out short-yardage and is always a threat as a returner. But for a #2 pick in the draft, especially one with the hype he had, you need to get 1,600 yards and 12 TD's, and Bush just couldn't do it, especially given how brittle he turned out to be. He'll get a shot to be the feature back in Miami, since they're not going to bring back Ronnie Brown or Ricky Williams. But I don't see him holding up through the whole year.
Reggie Bush is a below average receiver for a running back. He's pure dump-off and only average at being that, and in some other system such as Miami's that called fewer pass plays or was less boom/bust oriented he'd get many fewer touches and be less overrated as a receiver. Bush is a below average kick returner, with exactly one season, 2008, where he didn't suck balls. Take away a big return or two and he kinda sucked balls as a returner that season as well. Bush is a well below average rusher, who managed one season, 2009, of not actively hurting his team, and it took limiting him to five rushes a game to get him not to suck.
My God. I think the Texans may have actually improved the team via free agency. I never dared to hope.
Preseason football is so horrible. Tim Tebow just threw a touchdown to some guy who won't have a job in a month!
This is my favorite time of the year. The season, for most teams, is still unwritten. Will your team be good? Will they underachieve? At this point, much is still possible before the reality of actual games kicks in.
I'm going to regret this but here are Dr. Bulldog's Fearless Football Picks this year: DIVISION WINNERS NFC Philadelphia Green Bay Atlanta St Louis AFC New England Pittsburgh Indianapolis (still not Houston's year!) Kansas City WILD CARDS NFC Dallas Chicago AFC Baltimore New York SUPER BOWL Philadelphia vs. New York. May they destroy each other good and proper.
Rams 33, Colts 10. NFL Preseason...go figure! Yeah, the small horses were Manning-less, but he doesn't play defense. Maybe there's something to this Josh McDaniel's offense!!
Oh, I dunno. All the teams in that division suck. The Rams may suck just a little less than the rest of them this season.
True dat! I figure it's between the Rams and 'Zona. Seattle and SF both have major QB questions, while Bradford and Kolb are "The MAN" for their respective teams. I'm looking forward to seeing the new Josh McDaniels offense the Rams are running, but to me the difference will be the Rams D. Coach Spags runs a mean defense!
And THAT is welcome after several years of the Rams just throwing their hands in the general direction of the ballcarrier and hoping he decides to fall over.
There is a lot of truth in this article http://news.cnet.com/8301-17852_3-2...ootball/?part=rss&subj=news&tag=2547-1_3-0-20
I bet a lot of Fantasy Football comes down to money. A lot of under table bets going on in the ones I've seen.
Looks like Peyton Manning may be done for the season if he undergoes another neck surgery. Somewhere I hear Texans fans rejoicing......
I officially rescind my prediction that Indy wins the AFC South. I now choose Houston. With Manning out, the Colts will swirl counterclockwise around the bowl.
