From what I heard, it was the other way around.

And that's not vague at all...

I could go on, but the number of dishonest statements is too many to bother. The reality is that Obama is as hawkish and belligerent as almost any Republican and it is just partisan jibber-jabber to make him out as "weak".

The writer is cherry-picking examples to make a false comparison. I'd bet if you asked Carter, he'd be outraged over a lot of things Obama is doing.

Also, you hate every president until they're gone, at which point you hate the new one so much the previous guy looks better by comparison.

I bet Carter would be outraged at being compared to Obama.

It's not an unreasonable comparison. They are both centrists caught between a Congressional Democratic party that is more liberal and a fairly radicalized Republican party. They both preside during a time of economic upheaval caused by decades long trends with far too many people more interested in blaming them for this than working together toward a solution.

Would it be bad if I said I'd prefer Carter back in the White House over Obama?

    This.

The one thing that I was actually hopeful about where he is concerned has turned out to be about as big of a disappointment as his economics, foreign policy, etc. Well, even more, when you take into account that I am not exactly "disappointed" about how he has performed in other areas, because my expectations were very low.

And before anyone asks, no I don't think McCain or Romney would have been any better.
