Nothing is inherently wrong with occasional (or even frequent) grade school humor. I even indulge in it from time to time here and elsewhere.

Where I have an issue is the combination of tired and punching down.

Most of the grade school humor here has a measure of originality to it. (Thanks, Dicky!) And very little of it, thankfully, is aimed at people because of immutable and inherent characteristics like race/gender/sexual orientation.

The etymology of the word derives only from the 1960s, where it was created in part focusing on the strong aversion meaning of phobia (used without issue in descriptors like hydrophobic).

    hmm...

    pho·bic
    /ˈfōbik/

    adjective
    1. having or involving an extreme or irrational fear of or aversion to something.
      "she's phobic about spiders"
    noun
    1. a person with an extreme or irrational fear of or aversion to something.
      "a snake phobic"

    well, "aversion" certainly fits.

    so yeah, homophobic.

TLS is starting to mean The Losing Stance, innit?

Well, if it's an "extreme aversion", then you can throw 97+% of people into that club. Probably including you.

Nope, there's a difference between not having the same sexual attractions as someone else and being averse to them.

    What does that even mean?

Whether or not you believe it doesn't change the fact that to those of us who advanced beyond the 1950s there is literally no difference in how straight or gay relationships are perceived.

Yep, TLS sounds like stupid teenage me.
If teenage me saw gay stuff in a porn he'd be all "awww myyyy gaaaawwd!! My eyeballs are ruined!! Kill me!! Kiiiilll mmeee!! :weep:".
Now, if bi stuff leaks past the site's filters, I'm like "meh, not into that.".

That's how you should handle things that are no harm to you.
If the waiter brings you a meal you didn't ask for, and it's your least favorite food in the world, do you pitch a crying fit, and puke all over the place?
No, you just correct the error, and get the right dinner.
    No big fucking whoop.

Having been inside homophobia, you know what it is?
    Virtue signaling.
    To God.
God's a class-billion telepath, homophobes, he knows you're full of shit.
Absolutely full of shit, top to bottom.

The fact that you're a complete cunt who wants to burn family relationships over your cult doesn't reflect on anyone else but yourself. :clyde:

    I absolutely believe it.

When I was a kid my grandma said something racist and when my mother objected she was told "oh sure you say that, but you'd think differently if your child married one". I was brought up with that being baffling to me, that of course it wouldn't matter.

Now if a child of mine brought home a partner it wouldn't matter one bit if they were the same sex or not, and while there are still people like you who say "oh sure you say that, but you'd think differently if your child married one", it truly isn't the case and for most of the next generation it will be just as baffling and sad a statement.

Old Testament Jews made God a homophobe in their story book, because the Romans were LGBT friendly, and cults are all about political purity tests.
Jesus said nothing on the topic.
    Paul brings back the homophobia.
    And the misogyny.
While also being the first anti-semite.
    Paul was an asshole.

We aren't all religious bigots, TLS. Most of the country doesn't share your views. I personally have several gay friends and family members, and they are just like everyone else. Several of them are wonderful people, a couple are jerks, but they all are trying to get through life the best they can.

The reason so many people detest your religion now is that people like you use it as an excuse to hate.

And clearly ignore the parts of it that are intended to inspire, such as not judging and loving those around you despite their 'sins'.

Particularly good advice when the sin was invented so you could have an 'other' to despise. Not seeing through that makes you bad people.

This part. This is the part where you are judging and God had some pretty specific words about that. You, too, have sinned. and God will judge you just as harshly. You, my boy, are going to Hell.

Knowing you're on a dust speck, and that life is a blip, tends to make you humble.

Conversely, thinking you're in the Diety's special clubhouse makes you arrogant and entitled.

A little late responding to this, but FF has fully admitted that he only posts here to "troll libs." So I would encourage you to think about category (b) before responding to him as if he was posting seriously.

To be fair, he admitted this at TrollKingdom, so he may have been trying to brag. But I wouldn't take his posts seriously by default, it's been pretty clear that he just posts to generate responses. It's fun to take an occasional dig at him, though.

I also remember when I was 14 and posted with that mindset, so it's hard to blame him. Just a phase he's going through.
