I get the reference, but the number jordan peterson would come up with would be more like the square root of seven or eleven. cliche, but not overly functional, and really hard to express while still being really simple and pointless.
He is also apparently the one thing in the universe that is unpoundable. https://www.amazon.com/Peterson-Rambling-Conservative-Disguised-Intellectualism-ebook/dp/B0CGB2LM3H
Ever notice how conservatives call these criminal grifters "successful" and "good at business"? Anyone remember how Trump and his creepy sons on "The Apprentice" beat the contestants over the head with daddy-lectures of how "successful" they were, when Mark Burnett saved Trump from the last gurgle of the toilet flush? Boy, howdy, I do. I save all these receipts in a little wooden box with a Necronomicon face.
You'll enjoy your time in the camps, don't worry. We do arts and crafts! Well, after your anesthesia-free ECT treatment, of course.
Hey, let's see if they can turn him trans with words! Then your "think of the children" arguments will finally be right! Isn't that worth the sacrifice of one little Jordan Peterson? You'll watch kids get shot in schools by the pile for way less than that!
nice weasel words there.. whatever ya wanna call it though, could it have anything to do with his chasing celebrity discrediting the profession and violating his contractual obligations to both the university and professional organization? I'd think you'd be the first to defend the organizational right to censure a member when protecting its credibility?
Probably never. I'm sure that @matthunter could speak to this better than I, but generally when an academic institution revokes your degree it's for two reasons: 1.) You cheated to get your degree. 2.) It's an honorary degree, so you're not being stripped of something that you earned from academic efforts. In fact, it's probably been awarded because you gave the school a bunch of money for a tax write-off. What they can, and probably will do, is simply revoke his teaching certifications (assuming he's not tenured, if it is, it gets a little harder). That'll cause some financial issues for him, but I'm reasonably certain that he'll be able to make up the difference easily enough with things like Patreon and GoFundMe, etc.
Jordan petersnon having consequences for trying to harm others in an attempt to force them into living how he decides is not re-education camps. However if you punish trans and gay people and their allies for supporting GLBT by tossing them out of jobs, homes, and having the police and public take away their freedoms, harass, assault, and lynch them, that is re-education that UA supposrts and thinks should be law of the land. UA supports physical torture and abuse of trans kids, and imprisoning their parents in jail for allowing their kids to use the pronoun he does not want. Yet, this asshole is whining about a guy who goes against science and academics to harm others losing a certification he makes every effort to go against and say is false? The only people who wants nazi re-education camps here are UA and FF when they support a guy who feels that we should send GLBT kids to conversion therapy camps and jail their parents.
Youtube told UA to cry over Peterson as a victim hero. UA can never not obey Youtube. He's an independent thinker though.
UofT put him out to the "Emeritus" pasture a while back to live out his tenure. Now that the college of physicians or whomever holds his license (along with the professional standards) has had enough of his schtick though, I have no idea if it'll affect the university's obligations to him. I'd guess they'd only be too happy to see the backend of him... he's kind of an embarrassment given UT's ivy league north and progressive prestige.
So basically anything you’ve legitimately earned can be taken away at the whims of some leftist with an agenda? Sounds like fascism to me.
I'm sorry, where did I say that it was likely he'd have the degrees that he earned stripped from him? And just because you earn the right to get a job at any place, doesn't mean that you have the right to keep it in perpetuity. Also, do you think that the universities (and there were lots) who gave Bill Cosby honorary degrees were wrong to strip them from him once the rape allegations against him became publicly known? Because that did happen.
Oh, and let me point out that one of the things that unions do is they very aggressively push for is educational assistance for their members. This can mean that the employer has to help pick up the tab for schooling, or the union does it (depends upon circumstances). Do you know why they do that? Because skills and education are something that no one can take away from you. Even the certifications and degrees don't matter, if they're revoked from you, because you've got the knowledge (and hopefully the ability to take advantage of them). I was watching some documentary on Metallica 10+ years ago, and the band had hired a psychologist to help them get their shit together so that they could record an album. Fucker was being paid $40K/month for that gig. That's half a million a year, not to mention that you can parlay this into all kinds of other ways to make money. Jordy Peeps could easily do something like that (though the kinds of folks most likely to want to hire him are also the kinds of folks who're most likely to stiff him on payment). Most of the people I know who are skilled trade workers all make money on the side using their skills, and the people who are hiring them for the side work don't care about certifications and degrees, they care if Bubba can do the job at a price they can afford.
