A typical piece of C-movie trash that only avoids the direct-to-DVD treatment due to its main actors. Brendan Fraser  and Anita Briem do a fine job in this classic Jules Verne tale, but the rest of it... ugh. Like that story needs an extended dinosaur chase scene in really bad CGI. You can rip your script from the pages of the book, transfer it to the here and now and be done with it. It's really sad - this could have been an adventure story with a sense of wonder and excitement, instead it's an anemic vehicle to show off that your neighbor's kid can make CGI on his home computer now. Too sad. This could have been good. Instead it goes for the cheap thrills that totally aren't.

I saw the original when I was a kid. I couldn't bear to watch a trainwreck of a remake. :(

We did too. The kids wanted to go see it, so we took them.

The 3-D was cool, but the movie was [IMG]

When I tell you that most discussion over here was about the fact that the publicity material kept the 'center' spelling instead of changing it to 'centre', that lets you know know much impact the film itself had... ;)

Took my kids to see it. It was fun movie, and great as a family flick. As a sci-fi/fantasy movie, not so much.

Here it's been heavily promoted due to the 3d aspect, so it seems like you intentionally took away its major redeeming feature. :clyde:
