But...but California has banned consealed carry and everything! Even going through legit channels to have a gun in your house, it takes nearly a year! I'm shocked--shocked!!!--that this could happen!

    Odd.

I've yet to see a TV show where the good guys never miss.

And you act as if the bystanders are doing this:

    Bullshit.

Don't give ignorant idiots ammo to use against gun owners.

I'm all for concealed carry but it's a rare concealed carry person that could be considered "fully trained" to handle a situation like the Nordstorm incident.

In 2011 Miami Beach police fired 100 rounds at a man. They killed him and wounded seven other people of which four of those were themselves police officers.

I could dredge up more examples but I know I would be wasting my time with you.

    :wtf:

Yeah that only supports what I said......

Garamet said: "The Good Guys never miss." (on teevee)

I say: "I've yet to see a TV show where the good guys never miss."

Yeah, the A-Team was a show where the good guys always missed and the bad guys almost always missed and never hit anything vital. It was almost as defiant of physics as Star Trek.

Did the A-Team guys ever actually kill someone? I watched about twenty minutes of one episode at a girlfriend's house and never watched another episode. :yuck:

See they missed on purpose. They shot close enough to the bad guys to make them surrender but not to close to hit the bad guy and add murder charges to the long list of criminal charges they already have.

Plus the bad guys always missed because it's the A-Team. Can't hit the A-Team. The rules in the villain handbook specifically state: "Thou shall not shoot the A-Team"

    They are that good.

I'm not sure what your point is? That holding people hostage with knives is impossible? Hell, on 9/11 they took the planes hostage with box cutters.

I never said nor implied it was impossible to take hostages with knives. I was only saying that's not what happened in this case, as indicated by how the event unfolded:
Yes, there was a stabbing victim, but the hostages were being held at gunpoint. That was the weapon used to keep the hostages in check.

Plus there is a very big difference between an airplane and a Nordstrom's.

 Oh oh, I know! :meme:

See, they shouldn't have banned guns and knives from planes after 9/11 and subjected us to the bullshit that is the TSA. They should have banned planes! That way terrorists can't ram them into buildings!!! :diacanu:

 I didn't misrepresent a damn thing and you know it. You were the one who brought up bystanders being caught in the crossfire, and when someone brought up that incident where the NYPD shot a bunch of bystanders, you deflected it and kept up with your assertion that somehow a CCW holder being at one of these mass shootings would only add to the body count. And don't lie and try to say that you didn't. :garamet:

 Says the person who always feels the need to assert her supposed superiority over everyone on the forum.

That's still rather ambiguous. Perhaps "one of the victims" is a better choice of words?

Either way, your point is inconsequential. One of the victims was also sexually assaulted not by a knife or a bullet. All 14 of them were held at gunpoint, that is what made everything else possible.
