Initial impressions: 1) Awesome, this game rocks. It took me a few minutes to get used to the very slight delay that comes with the wireless guitar, after I got that, it was on like Donkey Kong. 2) You don't just beat the game straight through like before, now you have challengers that challenge you to a rock off in order to unlock more songs. That was great, it took me 3 times playing against Tom Morello of Rage to finally beat him. I didn't know how the first time, the 2nd time I slipped up, and the 3rd time I destroyed his ass. 3) The songs are great. I like that they used originals this time. I'm off to rock my way through a few more songs.
It's completely awesome. I understand pirating it if you don't have the money, but to me it was worth the buy.
Software designers and game developers deserve money for producing great games to play. I don't like to steal unless it's from those greedy RIAA types.
I think a lot of the money made from the GH games goes to the RIAA...I mean, they own the songs and demand royalties for them. It doesn't seem like there would be much coding to do, the hardest part would probably be aligning the circles with the correct notes in the song. The animation/modeling isn't all that innovative really. (Not to speak ill of the games; I love them)
I only do it for certain games. I don't think I have ever pirated one, oddly enough. Tried, yes. But, I already have one controller, why get another, see? That's mostly it. And money. I'm a teenager working minimum wage 9 hours a week.
Oh, so you mean only playing demos? I'm pretty sure that you can buy Guitar Hero without the controller for if you already own it.
They might not be able to on this one - with GHIII, they actually managed wireless controllers for all three systems (and as I'm sure you know, for the 360, that's quite the feat). I think they were pretty proud of that. Haven't really checked it out, though, 'cause I don't really care. EDIT: Just checked, they are certainly available seperately. Buy early, buy often!
Heh, that's so true. I just gave a bunch of money to the RIAA. But I like not having to play some rigged up version anyway. I just start up the Wii and it's ready to go.
Fuck evenflow! I couldn't do that again if I tried. I dropped the guitar and couldn't pick it back up in time to recover... but 99%???? How does that happen? I've never come that close and failed a song.
I have GH2 on the PS2 and GH3 on the Wii. There is a difference but I think it's because of the newer game features. It's 90 on the Wii and 100 for all other systems. The Wii, 360, and PS3 have online game play, I don't think the PS2 does.
You plug your Wii Remote into the guitar for the Wii version meaning they saved money on the wireless connectivity, whereas the PS3/360 guitar controllers are full wireless controllers in their own right.
You'd think that's why, but its actually cuz 360 and PS3 games avg 60 bucks and Wii games avg 50 bucks. They are just pocketing the rest of the cash.
Think I'll be buying the Wii version for the gf for Christmas, assuming she doesn't beat me to the punch...
Hard is much harder this time around. Medium on GH3 is like hard on GH2 as far as difficulty goes. You don't have the orange notes but it is not slower like it was before and it is definitely harder. I've beat the game on medium and I'm struggling on each song on hard.
Just got the game last night. It's pretty fun but I don't really dig the song selection near as much so far. The guitar battles are neat but kinda annoying. I beat the first guy on medium with no problems. Then vs slash I've tried 3 times and Always lose. I never even get close to yellow, but I can't make the guy mess up enough for him to lose. Every time I get him into the red, he builds all the way back up to green before I get more battle notes. I think maybe I'll try saving up 3 next time and using them during his final solo thing.
Get 3 weapons to use in a row. Don't just use one every time you get it, save up and hit him with so much he can't recover. That will work on Lou as well.
