I just picked up a USB floppy drive the other day. But I'm a little paranoid - there have been times in my life that I've needed a floppy drive and it simply wasn't there.
Floppies increase the range of options one has when recovering a computer that has crashed. Trust me. Floppies are still useful.
Why does that sound like it should be a quote from a moderately bad but so-bizarre-it-becomes-popular movie?
There are many a computer that would be happy to use a USB floppy drive but not a USB flash drive to boot from, load RAID drivers from, etc.
I have a USB floppy drive myself and it's been a life saver. Not really for my PC, but all of the other ones in the house and friend's PCs. I do love to LOL @ people who suggest using Linux as a viable alternative to Windows for 99% of college students.
