Okay guys…lets talk music. I LOVE music. I am ALWAYS listening to either the radio or one of my cds. My range covers EVERYTHING. I try to make genres in my head to straighten them out a little bit…so if anyone asks what a certain band is like…I attpemt explaining it by giving the genre…usually it doesn’t work…and people look at me funny and ask me what the heck I’m talking about. Usually, that’s the case with rock…because I favor it. Why? Because it’s impossible to get bored with rock. There are so many different sounds and genres, it’s crazy. I honestly don’t know where to start with naming off bands/singers…I supposes I will attempt to sort them out….Here goes…

I go through phases..sometimes I’ll where out certain cds for a month or so…then get tired of it and listen to the radio for a while. Right now, I’m going through a radio phase. Mainly because there are certain songs on there that I like, that I spend all day listening for. Here’s what I like that’s on the radio now…

*~My Chemical Romance ~ Welcome to the Black Parade (I am completely obsessed with this song!!!)
*~Hello Goodbye ~ Here In Your Arms ((a little techno love vibe[I love]…and it reminds me of a certain someone…wuddya know…it’s on the radio right now))
*~Fall Out Boy ~ This Ain’t a Scene (does not sound like Fall Out Boy, but this was definitely an improvement)
*~Pink ~ You and Your Hand (funny song…I love Pink)
*~The Wreckers ~ Leave the Pieces (I love this song…it reminds me of one of my best friends..this was her myspace song when she was breakin up with her bf…actually…that’s aiyana135s crushes sister…in case anyone cares)
*~Fergie ~ Fergalicious (definitely fun to sing)
*~Hinder ~ Lips of an Angel (almost overplayed…but I still like it)
*~Nelly Furtado ~ Say It Right (don’t even know why I like this song)

My dad likes all the classic stuff…so I grew up with most of these (and, yes…I did listen to these when I was little…I know that’s hard to believe since most of you with kids wouldn’t even think about letting your kids near some of this) and my dad has them…so, since we share cds theyre pretty much mine too

    *~White Zombie
    *~Ozzy Osborne
    *~Rush
    *~Tool
    *~Pantera
    *~Metallica
    *~Rage Against the Machines
    *~Def Lepard
    *~Guns `n’ Roses
    *~Black Sabbath
    *~White Smake
*~Cannibal Corpse (yeah…I don’t really like them…much to vulgar for my taste…I just listened to them)
    *~Led Zepplin
    *~Pink Floyd
    *~Queen
    *~The Beatles
    *~Megadeath
    *~Alice in Chains
    *~Alice Cooper

    I also loved(…and still do):
    *~Pat Benitar
    *~Olivia Newton John
    *~The Jackson 5
    *~Micheal Jackson
…pretty much anything from the 80s

As I grew up I found my own stuff….I started out with the softer stuff…

    *~Good Charlotte
    *~MercyMe
    *~The Killers
    *~Simple Plan

And I went through a strict hardcore/emotional rock phase:
*~Marilyn Manson(I was obsessed with him for a while…I did a bunch of research.and can give you pretty much his whole biography if you asked…many people judge him…but he really is a different person than what people see/assume)
    *~Korn
    *~Slipknot
    *~Evanescence
    *~AFI
    *~HIM

Now I listen to all of that plus, whatever I hear and like:
    *~Blink 182
    *~My Chemical Romance
    *~The Fray
    *~Modest Mouse
    *~Fall Out Boy
    *~Avenged Sevenfold
    *~Pink
    *~Disturbed
    *~Chevelle
    *~Green day
    *~Carole King
    *~P.O.D.
    *~Nickelback
    *~Flyleaf
    *~Superchick
    *~Barlow Girl
    *~Jeremy Camp
    *~Jars of Clay
*~Phonoluxe (I don’t know if any of you guys have heard of them….some of my friends are in this band…they are amazing…and they’re pretty well known in the city I go to school at…If none of you have heard of them…go to myspace….and search them under “music”…they are amazing and you will not be disappointed…everyone at my school loves them…they are amazingly talented and amazing guys!!!)

I also tend to listen to a bit of country:
    *~Shania Twain
    *~Jessica Andrews
    *~The Wreckers
    *~Rascal Flatts
*~Johnny Cash (I love that guy he was so great!)
    *~Dolly Pardon

And I do have a bit of a girly pop side:
    *~Hilary Duff
    *~Lindsay Lohan
    *~Ashley Simpson

And I love all of the hits from the 90s!!!

    Certain Musicians/”classical” bands/composers
    *~the Tran Siberian Orchestra
    *~Rex (he’s a 10 yr. old disabled pianist…he’s amazing if you haven’t heard him)
    *~Mozart
    *~Beethoven
*~large foreign choirs of any kind…I love the sound…(like the Japanese choir that sings the first song on Good Charlotte’s newest album, The Chronicles of Life and Death (Once Upon a Time: The Battle of Life and Death)..its amazing…I just love how they sound

There are very few bands that I really really hate…but usually, when I do, it’s from a bad experience or cause I hate their voice.or both…

    *~Alan Jackson
    *~Coldplay
*~Mariah Carey (only certain songs…shes amazing, so its hard not to like everything)
*~Nelly (especially that stupid song…It’s All in my Head…he shouldve kept it in his head…country and rap should never try to mix like that ever again…no offence against either kinds of music…I like both…but still!)…ironically enough…right when I typed that, a Nelly song came on the radio…

I like certain performers regarless of style of music. Frank Sinatra, The Doors, Dizzy Gillespie, Elvis Costello, Bruce Springsteen, Sonny Rollins, Dean Martin are examples.

A little "outside the norm" is Klezmer music. Who would have thought clarinets and fiddles can rock so hard?

Music I hate is when the vocals are mixed too low in the mix, or singers are shouting or screaming. If you have something to say, SAY IT LOUD AND CLEAR! Also, don't saturate the mix with too much data. Some of this modern rock sounds terrible. If I can't isolate and pick out a bass line, a guitar, or a keyboard from all the "wall of noise" then I can't stand to listen to it. I hate chaos in my music.

i love their first album, but after that...

'zombie' is so bad all the parties in NI decided to co-operate in the hope nobody else ever made such a shitty political tune.

whenever that gobshite paisley starts getting uppity they threaten him with ipod shuffles loaded with the tune in order to get him to behave.

amnesty international are said to be horrified at such an inhumane treatment.

Well its one thing when you don't like someone's music... hahah but you tell them how much it sucks and stuff like that and you just go on about yours lalalala and before we know it we know all about Flaming Mustard and Star Fruit Rages... so it is sort of a "fucking Jihad" as you so eloquently put it. Or did I see torture in there... yeah that would do it too.

It is now my goal to find this song so that maybe I can get MiniBorg to post some nipply goodness in the Boob thread. (ETA: If you don't feel like sharing with everyone, you can certainly PM me some pics. I swear I won;t share them :soholy:)

As for music, my iPod is currently plowing through my 315 song 1980 playlist. After that will be my 250 song 1981 playlist, and so forth. I also just downloaded some old Bob Seger (Seger System, Smokin' OPs, etc. through The Distance) and some late 70's Boz Scaggs.

In the Navy, stopping in at Singapore, some of the locals were headbanging to that shite song like it was some kind of Slayer riff or something. :jayzus:

My all time hereoes are Cash and Waylon Jennings
but Im just as much at home listening to ZZ Top as I am Sinatra. On My computer there are over 5500 songs saved to the memory--ranging from Sammy Davis Jr to Van Halen, but mostly pop of the 60s and 70s
