Finished season 2 last night, and I loved it more than the first season. I mean, my god, what scifi show opens a season with sailing a spaceship? Parker Posey continues to be the best thing about this show. She is phenomenal. Great plot this season too. Season 2 finale spoilers:
It was pretty good. Lots of deus ex machina moments but that's what LIS is all about. This plus the series is geared towards young teens. And some old geeks: is it terribly wrong I want to have a threesome with Maureen and Dr. Smith?
Ooo ooo, and I love how they keep yanking Billy Mumy out of the freezer, but I think his goose is cooked this season.
Great season! Guest appearances by Bill Mumy and Angela Cartwright! They took the scene from the original where the chariot crosses an ocean and made the whole damn ship into a sailboat! That first ep was fucking specTACular! I loved the Aliens reference (the little girl surviving in the service tunnels), and the Star Wars trash compactor scene!
Really dug the first season. Gonna watch this after I finish The Witcher. Anyone got a good 15m/20m recap of season 1?
I really felt for Dr. Smith when she was trying to get onto the bridge and she said "I'm too late". There are moments when she really seems that is trying to do right, but at the same time you're wondering if it's real or not. The too late was one of the times she really seemed as to really be trying.
Well ..., that's disappointing. I mean, the trailer looks cool and all. I was just hoping to get an actual ... you know ... continuing story like we did in the original. Not a complete ... robot kills everyone story.
Naw. It'll be a feel-good ending, not like the original where they left them LIS on Gilligan's Island. Have you seen the 1st two seasons?
I did. I really liked them. But, the trailer seems to be cutting off the story before it really begins. I mean, the first two seasons tell us how they got lost in space, now I want to see how they live lost in space, not how they die immediately in space.
Season 3 dropped. It picks up right where season 2 left off. Will has grown some. Still have the hots for Dr. Smith.
Netflix is really shitty about not giving shows more than two or three seasons except in rare instances.
This show is what I wish Discovery was, a sense of adventure, optimism, science, family, drama, tension. Discovery tries to do these things, but they do it very poorly. This show does them very well.
I finished the show and while I wish the show would have gotten at least another season or two, I'm pretty satisfied with how it concluded.
I'm through 7 and the writing is pretty sappy. The teenage angst is a bit much. Even Smith seems to have grown up. Not that it was ever that good in any iteration. Hoping for a satisfying finale.
