True enough, but I'll leave that to Shakes to say.

My dad was an A-4 pilot in Vietnam. Afterwards, he graduated to A-7's.

Marso, I'm not sure what I expected, and I know the pix are old, but...you look NOTHING like I anticipated.

Well, I look pretty much the same now. Little older, little fatter, and my hair is actually shorter than when I was in the Nav- tight on the sides, with a flattop. Otherwise, not much different.

Oh, for those interested in trivia:

There was a LCDR standing behind Maverick when he was opening his envelope to go back to the ship for the crisis. That guy was C.J. "Heater" Heatley, who did some of the aerial photography for the movie and later published the photobooks 'The Cutting Edge' and 'Forged in Steel'. Heater's bio included stints as an instructor at both Navy and Air Force fighter weapons schools, and CO of VF-124.

Lots a little cameos in the movie by the actual guys. One of the MiG pilots was an admiral.

Found out today both my kids are getting glasses. I still see 20/15 but my wife is blind as a bat.

No more Naval Aviators in my family, not that either of them were planning to go that route, but still... :(

Your P-3 looks blue! Or is that just what the flash does to ghost gray?

Must have been the flash. That plane was old, grey, and dirty.

Dad, being an ol' fighter pilot, was curious about Top Gun. He didn't like going to the movies, so I offered to show him the film on VHS. He told me to set up the tape one day and he'd watch it while I was at work so he could start and stop it if he got restless (The man couldn't sit still, always had a project to do).

I got home and asked how he liked it.

He said "I think I wore out your carpet trying to work the rudder pedals!"

Well, I'm on the road right now, so it's going to have to wait a bit. Had to leave early this week for training.

Photoshop Marso's head over Richard Gere's and Mewa's over Louis Gossett Jr from An Officer and a Gentleman.

    I got nowhere to go!

Actually, I'd prefer if you didn't PM them around, either. Otherwise I would have left them up indefinitely.
