Evo Morales is the latest lefty in Latin America to be ousted, after the military ordered him to go. He's now on a plane to Mexico. :(

Predictably, Trump has backed it, preposterously claiming the the region was moving towards democracy.

Bernie Sanders said the following, and I'm with him.

I suppose it's progress that there are now US Presidential candidates opposed to this kind of thing.

We mustn't ask such questions. Morales was a lefty and therefore anything he did was clearly for the good of the people, whether the ingrates liked it or not.

It is wonderful that the military followed the will of the people and removed a man who was illegally running for a third term against the constitution. Further more he was caught red handed trying to rig the election but Rick doesn’t care because he is a failed leftist leader.

Did the military actively oust Morales, or did they just say they weren't going to stop the protesters and that he should probably resign?

He tried to change the rules in order to get another term in office and when that failed he violated the constitution by running again in a rigged election. The guy was a modern day Caesar. No wonder you and Bernie love him.

Politicians like Morales are why socialism will never catch on in America.

Because it wasn't a military coup

Because they are being drowned out by the many more thousands who don't like rigged elections

Because Morales voluntarily resigned. You can sugarcoat this shit all you want, but the guy was a wanna be dictator who was rightfully resisted by the population.

This was a coup, undoubtedly backed by the CIA, because that's what the U.S. does whenever a country with valuable resources decides to stop playing its game.

So does everyone else on Planet Earth.

Meanwhile, what's your take on Evo Morales and how he tried to steal an election and got caught out by the people of Bolivia?

Anything about the article or are you going to try and deflect the thread away because it's about another socialist who wanted to be dictator?

"Whatever other people do, you make sure you do it too, like imprison children or let them die of disease. Whatever you do, though, don't help them." - Jesus, probably.

I'm not deflecting anything, just not surprised at the level of bootlicking you guys do. Hooray, America, gets what it wants again. Those tasty lithium mines gonna get that stock market up. Betcha Tesla's happy.

So, there have also been disputes about the US election.

Let's say in response (instead of the political process working through the issues) that an organisation controlled by a hostile power was declared the arbiter of what went wrong, Trump Tower was burned down, police forces around the country mutinied, the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff "suggested" that Trump should resign, and leading opposition figures spoke about putting a junta in place instead.

Presumably Rightforge would be okay with that and it would represent the victory of democracy?

Of course not. It's different when it's the US, or even someone they voted for.

Which sounds an awful lot like the behaviour of Trump, just changing a few of the labels.

Fuck off. Those kids were brought here by irresponsible parents and the U.S still gave them food, shelter and medicine. I'm so sorry that they couldn't get a stay in a nice swank room, but our resources only go so far. But as usual with your ilk, it's never enough and parents bear no responsibility for putting their own children in danger. You see a cell and think "cages." What an idiot.

It's not bootlicking. It's reading all the facts and coming up to the same conclusion that any logical person not buried in their own dogma can see. The guy had no respect for his own country's constitution and tried to stay in power by any means necessary It's like a story straight from Revenge of the Sith.

Trump tried to stay in power? He's hasn't served a full term yet. You're going to have to do better than that to justify what this guy was doing.

No, it's that I pay attention. You, on the other hand, are blind and deaf, and screaming loudly about how free you are while standing in a prison cell.

Trump was quite explicit that he wouldn't accept the result of the election if he lost.

Trump was helped into power by a foreign power rigging the election.

Trump has attempted to control the media.

Trump has time and again had to be kept in line by those checks and balances.

Trump has clearly sought the assistance of foreign agencies in his own personal agenda, even if it never reaches the point of impeachment.

Should Trump supporting Mayors be dragged along the street, stripped, shorn of their hair, and beaten into a stupor?

I think his point is that people in the US have a distinct habit of declaring themselves "freer" than others even when the evidence suggests otherwise and that is a dangerous fallacy. When you cheer for a dictator in the name of freedom they're still a dictator.

This. The United States loves to declare how free its people are, but they're not. The U.S. is also imperialist as hell, and supports dictators that will open up economic avenues for the U.S. We're a nation of do as we say, not as we do.

So literally nothing to say about the fact he tried to rig an election

You never consider that I've read other sources, or knew about this coup when it happened and have been following it steadily. It comforts you to think I'm out of touch. I expect that illusion to continue.
