"Trapping" a human being is very wrong morally because humans are fully capable of having different motives both good and bad. Often at the same time. The German guy MIGHT have been looking to boost a couple of beers. He also might've said "Hey this women left a purse in here, I'd better tell the people in the house" Or he might've had both intents. At any rate the guy committed what amounts to premeditated murder, mitigated only slightly that the victim was trespassing. (which of course is not a capital crime).
Spraying shotgun fire? That's new one to me. So they make shotguns that spray pellets like a garden hose sprays water? Holy shit that would be awesome for duck/goose hunting! You could take out the whole flock as they come in to land! I'll bet this invention will be on Shark Tank soon.
It's the new full auto 12-gage firing 750 shells per minute. No matter what you were originally aiming at, you end up flat on your back shooting at ducks flying overhead.
For the purpose of this instance, "spraying shotgun fire" to me refers to firing multiple rounds in the minimum possible time. Didn't the guy fire at least 3 very quick shots from his shotgun? Pretty ridiculous. I own a shotgun (a family heirloom) and even I know that 1) A shotgun generally has the pellets spreading out in something not unlike a "spray pattern" 2) It doesn't take a direct hit from a shotgun to be debilitating. Face it, this homeowner got royally pissed off over some robberies and CHOSE to commit premeditated murder. Owning a house gives an American no more right to use lethal force as anyone else.
Look at the AK-47, illiterate 13 year old child soldiers in Bhuttkrakistan can use them effectively too.
