I thought so. I figured it was just an attempt at a "gotcha" rather than a true statement that appropriate limits on guns can be determined by looking at alcohol.

I love the right wing pretending they worry about children when they get given a voluntary hormone blocker they have to ask for and be prescribed, and that never causes death or harm, but fuck those kids when it comes to the guns that kill or maim so many every year.

I could go along with you guys being intellectually honest if you just said fuck the kids I want mine in all situations. We know you don't give a fuck about kids dying because of your stance on guns given to everyone, and you do not want kids eating or getting medical care.

Gotta agree here. "Concerning," by any non-self-serving definition, is inverse to regularity/exposure. If every other person is armed, one more person armed is of no concern to someone unarmed; they're used to it. Seems like one hell of a catch-22; if enough people carry regularly that it's not a concern, then carrying is fine, but if you try to contribute to making that state exist when it doesn't, then you're arrested. Bullshit. Someone who's never seen a car dropped onto the sidewalk of a busy thoroughfare is going to be genuinely concerned. A person who hates cars and wants to take a stand for public transit is going to be "concerned". Doesn't mean they should get their way and have all the cars removed.

Bottom line in simple terms using simple logic (because I'm not an intellectual giant like yourself): Guns kill - booze kills. Both are controlled but not outright banned in America.
Gun deaths horrify many more people than do drunk driving deaths, drug overdoses, obesity related deaths, and other PREVENTABLE types of death. The right to bear arms is protected in our Constitution while booze, drugs, and serial eating like a pig/being lazy are not. There ya go buddy! I can't make it any clearer than that.

I won't say they have never happened in France, but I have never heard of one. Shootings of any kind are extremely rare here, and are mostly limited to gangland confrontations or terrorist attacks, and stray bullets hitting houses just doesn't happen.

Ayup. Friend and I did a road trip from San Diego up to the Grand Canyon, then Vegas, then Sequoia National Park, then down to LA.

We were a bit nervous about gun culture in the US but it went fine until we were driving into LA. Then we heard about a basic running shootout going on. This was 2001, prior to 9/11 (January). Bear in mind in the UK the last mass shooting prior to that was 1996, and that was a national tragedy. This was fucking Tuesday, was the attitude.

It says a lot about a majority of these cities that are ran by Democrats and that's where a lot of the gun violence happens.

IMHO "very regularly" means something that happens often to a fairly large percentage of the general population. Getting a flat tire might be "very regularly" but even that might fall into the category of "fairly regularly". Just trying to give this a sense of perspective.
