Um, it doesn’t really say anything about Trump being guilty (of what?) either. In fact, Trump is not and has not been under investigation this whole entire time. The memo isn’t really about Trump at all.
Indeed, it is being presented as relevant, full stop. I don't understand why anyone would believe it is.
We are seven months in while Watergate took two years. So far we have to guilty plea (a third, Gates, probably just happened last week) and two grand jury indictments. That is really fast plus the main event is still coming.
Yes...because that's now how the FISA court is supposed to work. It's supposed to be impossible to get a FISA warrant based entirely on a single piece of evidence.
That has been explained to Zombie multiple times, he has even been shown articles from reputable source which explain why his fatasy position is both untrue and impossible... But the truth does not fit his hopes and dreams so he keeps rejecting the truth preferring to repeat lies he knows are not true but which he desperately wants, needs even, to be true. It is very sad.
https://www.yahoo.com/news/brennan-steele-dossier-apos-did-070115769.html So once again the Steele Dossier had nothing to do with the fisa warrent. Republicans are just lying. As is usual.
https://www.politico.com/story/2018/02/05/fbi-footnote-carter-page-warrant-390795 Now even Nunes has been forced to admit that the main claims he made in the fake memo were all made up bull shit lies.
The Nunes memo is the equivalent of a defense attorney writing "my client is totally innocent" on a piece of paper and then demanding that it be accepted as authoritative evidence.
The HPSIC voted unanimously to declassify a rebuttal to the Nunes memo. Trump has to approve it, will probably veto, but it puts him at odds with the GOP. Even Nunes is running with his tail between his legs.
https://talkingpointsmemo.com/livewire/tillerson-us-already-seeing-signs-interference-2018 Russia is already doing the same sort of disinformation campaign it did in 2016 for the 2018 elections. The US still has not made any meaningful reforms and Trump is still illegally ignoring the law to impose sanctions on Russia for its 2016 election meddling.
Trump and the Republicans are talking about redacting much if not most of the memo simply to prevent the truth from getting out. If Trump does do that Dems should just read it out loud in the Congress as constitutionally they cannot be charged with anything as long as it is read aloud in Congress.
HAHAHAHA........ So the Dems load up a memo with classified info, send it off to the White House, and idiots like you are going to complain that the classified info has to be redacted which means Trump is trying to hide the truth. Yeah I agree. The Dems should absolutely read all the classified info out loud in the Congress. This way when the FBI and DOJ go ballistic they can't blame Trump.
It is pretty rich with humor. I agree with your cynical read on what motivated the Dem. memo to be written as it was, and almost certainly they specifically included sensitive stuff to the memo just for political one-upsmanship. Not sure if the procedure would allow for it, but imo the best approach would be for Trump to approve the release of the entire (unredacted) Dem. memo, but in his beneficence first give the Dems the opportunity to censor the memo as they like to remove sensitive matters - shift the burden back to the Dems to either release as is, or redact the extraneous sensitive shit that they added. I'd agree if this wouldn't also reveal methods and means of FBI surveillance, basically giving our enemies a road map into FBI surveillance practices and policies re: obtaining FISA warrants.
But see in such a situation the Dems would refuse that and say, "It's clear that Trump doesn't care about the security of this nation. Yes there was classified stuff in the memo we wrote but that is why as per law it was sent to the White House so the FBI/DOJ could redact those things which were classified."
What? The way it works is that the HPSIC votes on release items and those items are than sent to the White House for approval and any redaction if necessary. The Nunes memo went to the White House after the vote and the FBI asked the White House to redact one item for national security concerns. The Democrats asked for one redaction. The Democrat memo, approved by all the Democrats and Republicans, was sent to the White House for the same process. The FBI and DOJ will go over it and ask for items to be redacted or blacked out if there is classified information that they don't want public.
Stop lying. It’s 10 pages long and it has classified info in it all over the place. I’m sure Schiff, whose a leaker, will leak the parts that are redacted so don’t worry you’ll get your whole memo.
Exactly. The Dems don't control the Intelligence Committee...the Republicans do. If the Democrates are trying to pull a hokey doke on Trump by sending him a spiked memo, then the Republicans would have to be in on it.
Today, the lawyer for Gates officially requested that Gates be removed from the joint case against him and his business partner Manafort. This is the surest sign yet that Gates has been flipped by Mueller and has agreed to turn state's evidence. Things are looking pretty bad for Manafort so now he is facing a pretty sure conviction. His only two realistic options seem to be to cut a deal with Mueller or hope Trump pardons him after conviction (which will still leave Mabafort facing state level charges). If Mueller can convince Manafort to flip then Trump is in a very hard spot as Manafort was likely the main contact wrt collusion and money laundering.
What a pity you're a leftwing nut, not a right - instead of repeating yourself w the same "big news!" story (that can barely even elicit a yawn) you'd be posting a steady stream of actual news items, that were actually surprising or interesting, and might actually reach a scandalous level, in time. But no; gasp. Sputter. Pfffft. At least that's what it's sounding like.
Alternately, when Mueller starts reeling in the big fish and you pretend there's nothing to back up those charges, Dinner will have a lengthy thread showing exactly how the investigation reached that point to refute you.
