Yeah, but if you are voluntarily saying something to someone they shouldn't be obligated to keep secret about it.

Certainly information that is shared like a real name or location shouldnt be posted on the board proper, however beyond that I don't see why it should be the job of staff to prevent people sharing conversations they have had.

Seriously boring and unoriginal. If it genuinely aspires to be a professional writer of some sorts then it should probably seek out new aspirations it's more likely to achieve and to which it's better suited, like being a pile of mulch or getting a spot as the "before" picture in a gastric bypass surgery ad.

Ok, Johnny boi, if you think you're such a master troll, consider this, if we are to look at your behaviour we can decide one of two things:-

    1) That you were a loser who got upset at the use of your ugly mug in avatars, was forced to admit the photos were of himself because he wanted warnings issued, then ran off and locked his account when he didn't get his own way, much as he ran off and locked his John Castle account earlier this year when, again, he was caught out. Said individual then spammed up Facebook with close to a hundred posts, where he desperate sought attention. Going on and on for hour after hour until people started paying him some attention, and even then not getting the so called attention he wanted, but instead received recipes posts. Said individual then started posting legal threats and generally having a meltdown. After a night's sleep said individual realised that nobody gave a shit, sent a crawling message to Tamar on Facebook and then crawled back to claim it was all a big troll of everyone.

    ; or

    2) You actually are the clever troll you are now pretending to be.

Now, even if (2) were actually the truth, the fact is that 99% of the board believe (1) to be the case. So you are either the sad loser detailed in option (1) or the supposedly clever troll whose trolling is so successful that people are laughing at him and nobody is laughing with him.

So, either way, its a huge all round failure. Well done.

See, you dont know SHIT about Islam and you go on these diatribes. If you were educated regarding Islam, you'd never say shit like that. But you are not, and you are happy in your ignorance.

There you go with that bullshit again. Dude, USA didn't allow for women to vote till the 20th century. Islam MADE IT A RULE for women to have a voice in court back in the 7th century. Believe it or not.. am inclined to say you won't believe me, or even do your own research.. but women in Islam have more say, more rights and more power than any other religion, Abrahamic or not, combined. Learn your stuff before you spew your bullshit.

Could you tell us more about it?

I mean, many of us don't get much opportunity to hear about Islam from someone who believe in it.

Historically maybe. In the modern world though I wouldn't say that they have more rights than those outside of Islamic countries. Having said that, it's often more due to the interpretation of Islamic by regimes than it is a reflection of the religion itself.

Furthermore, in my travels around the Middle East and contact with muslims of various origins, both practicing and non-practicing, one things I have noticed is that there is a dichotomoy between the educated classes and the education, the latter being the ones more likely to succumb to the twisted views of ruling Islamic clerics. Amongst the more educated classes I have found an appreciate of the family, and in partiucular the woman in the family, well beyond anything we see in the Western world. The respect shown to woman on the family is paramount, to the extent that any disrespect to your women is consider a matter of great shame.

But, of course,, we don't here about that side of things here in the west. Because here all muslims are uneducated religious fanatics who beat their women and want to bomb people. This is most likely because America has no such things as regilgious fundementalists, hate groups, wife beaters, and nutjobs who decided to attack groups of civilians with weapons. God forbid what would happen to the West if that happened.

    Of course!

Generally speaking, in Islam, women are supposed to be revered and respected over and beyond anything. There are many sura's (prayers, the backbone of the Qu'ran) that depict the respectability of women through various quotes such as "A Wife's happiness is the Home's happiness" or "Under the Mother's feet is where Heaven lies". Rights wise women are given, in more ways than one, more rights than men. For example, if a woman divorces her husband (or he divorces her) she has the right to take everything and anything she wants from the home before she leaves. Women are also given 'first say' regarding household and homemaking concerns. Religion wise, if my wife wants the blue drapes for remodelling but I want the black ones...well.. she gets the blue ones LOL.

Now you can of course ask "but Megatron, why are women forced to wear the burkha or cover their faces? Or cant go anywhere without male escorts?" and I'll say that in Islam it is EXPRESSLY FORBIDDEN to cover your face fully. You are also supposed to show hair and any form of feminine beauty you can show wthout it being vulgar or forcefully enticing. THAT'S IT. No other stringent rule. And regarding women not allowed to go anywhere, that in itself is a twisted 'law' that Saudi Rulers have enacted and has NOTHING to do with Islam. If that was truly the case, why would Our Prophet get married to his first wife who was 12 years his senior AND a succesful businesswoman/merchant at that time? In other words, in Islam, women ARE not only allowed to, but are ENCOURAGED to get educated, get any jobs they want or start their own businesses.

I know am gonna invoke the 'No true Scotsman' fallacy, but the majority of Muslims in the world (bar the fanatics) HATE and DESPISE Saudi laws. Yes they rever the Holy Sites but they literally will not be friendly with anyone from Saudi Arabia, the men specifically.

    Bingo!

Absolutely right. Women are to be revered and respected, simple as that.

Yup. Bombing stories are front page splash material, but a group of Muslims condemning that bombing is a three line paragraph on page 24.

Great posts, both Skin and Megatron. I have a few Moslem friends and co-workers, very observant and among the most decent people I know. There are plenty of scumbags, no doubt. But it isn't Islam that makes them that way. It's poverty, poor education, and demagoguery manipulating people's misfortune. That the demagogues do this in the name of Islam in no way means their views represent the real thing.

Just as an afterthought: You're missing a major point here, bub. If you think trolling depends on or results in a sympathetic target audience, then you're sorely amiss on what trolling is. Nobody trolls for the applause or appreciation of the target.

No, but they troll for the reaction from the target.

The reaction you got was people laughing at you. Not fearing your revenge, not anger or frustration at you, but the humor of a 120 pound 13 year old boy screaming at the older kids he is going to get them while his voice breaks.

And the :wtf: faces. Don't forget the :wtf: faces. :)

EDIT: Afterthought Part Deux: I don't care what the reaction is. I care that there is one. For the span of about 3 days, the Red Room was about me and little else. For a few posters here, this whole board was and to some extent remains about me and little else. What would you call that if not a good, sound troll?
