I am now unemployed. This situation will never be resovled and I fear I shall die from it. I worked as a bottom feeder, and am searching for something similar. Guess I am not scummy enough.
Sorry as hell to hear that. I'm not given to sunny platitudes, but there's always hope that a sharp one like you will adapt and overcome. Don't surrender to despair while you can still draw breath.
It's the ones who don't want to work and live off the public dole that are scummy. Are you drawing unemployment? I hope you will. If you've been working, it's a benefit you've earned and are entitled to.
Also not given to sunny platitudes, but EVERY TIME I lost (or quit) a job a better one came along. It's really amazing how that can happen, but it does, to a lot of other people too. Keep your head on a swivel and your mind clear....odds are you will indeed end up with a job before you know it.
Yes, but you'd better overcome in a damned hurry, and you'd better never show your despair here or... They'll turn on you...like a leper....
I'm sorry to hear that; are you and Motley having trouble in LA? It's a tough city to get adjusted to. The two of you are always welcome to take advantage of your TK meetup credit and join me for dinner sometime.
So sorry to hear that, Neon What do you fancy doing, work wise? Sometimes hard times like this open up opportunities even if it might not seem like it at the time. Just keep believing in yourself, honey.
You should not be looking for a bottom feeder job. You were a weather equipment troop in the Air Force, which means you know electronics and are a troubleshooter. Look for something in industry it pays better. I'm sure you can find something.
Very true! Even some electronics training and real world experience can get you an Electronic Tech I job.....that pays around 23 dollars an hour these days. A lot of experience gets you Tech III at around 27 per hour. Trust me.....military experience goes a long, long way, especially if you are interested in being a gub'mint contractor. You could even get a GS job. Techs start out around GS 10 most of the time. Seriously......do a search for "federal jobs" and use the words "technician" "electronics" and so on. Most of the sites even have a resume template. Despite the economy, government + government contractors (especially the defense industry) are ALWAYS hiring somewhere. I've helped vets get electronic tech jobs and they are all doing well. Any questions, I can help you out anytime!
Worked as a server, sometimes a manager, It was easy, I could turn my brain off and save it for my time. Made a lot because I can do foreign languages.
