I'm glad someone pointed out the bit about the other 19 kids that she had. I think only the first three are row up, but that's still a hell of a huge burden to share if Mom ended up passing away needlessly.

One reason the Duggars stopped using birth control was reportedly that after they had their first child, the woman was on birth control yet became pregnant anyway and then miscarried.

Reportedly they blame the birth control pills she was on for causing the miscarriage.

At any rate the Duggar's are part of the "Quiver full" movement or belief system.

They are not only part of the quiver full movement they also teach the belief system that it is wrong and shames your family if you express any kind of negativism or displeasure. Which is why they are all extremely perky.

Everytime she has gotten pregnant I've thought - what about the ones she already has? It is beyond ridiculous to keep putting yourself at risk to 'prove a point' or whatever it is they are doing.

When she got pregnant this time about the only thing I thought was 'sure hope she doesn't die'. But that being said I have gotten pregnant twice while on the pill and there is the potential that my IUD has failed (have to go in for an ultrasound to see). We found after having YDD that I'm at risk to bleed out everytime we have a baby (wanted to have our last at home and DH refused and we ended up having complications and he is NEVER going to let me forget that . Geez you men. Right once or twice and you have beat the dead horse over it.)

Fundamentalist guy at work had 13 kids, all delivered by him at home, and all home schooled. Always boasted that his wife was back to work on the laundry, the dishes, or schoolin' the young'uns the same day as giving birth.

Anyway, the last couple of kids started having medical problems. I think the last one died in infancy. I think the guy and his wife were wearing out their gametes and starting to produce inferior product.

I knew these people were weird but I didn't know they were cultists. Yeah I'd consider the whole "we always have to be perky and not express negativism" and "we believe in pumping out kids on a yearly basis" to be cultist.

Hell I was ecstatic when my 2nd kid got old enough that we didn't need formula or baby food or diapers or waking up every few hours or changing diapers. I couldn't handle 19 kids while being perky. Just the two I've got acting crazy like kids do and fighting each other like it's the Ultimate Fighting Championship is hard enough. My house would turn into a "remake" of Amityville if I had to deal with 19 kids.

I'm not having a third kid unless we win the lottery and I can hire servants to do that stuff.

It is troubling for me as my wife and I always wanted a second and even a third child.

Who are any of us to sit in judgement over them?

She is free to make her choices, just as we are free to mock them. No one here is saying there should be a law, just that most of us think her, and her husbands choices are stupid or unhealthy.

So, some things that go on in the bedroom are none of anyone else's business, but others, that aren't so PC, are open season for nosy busybodies to pass judgement on.

I'm not mocking her. And I'm not judging her decision to have more children (well in a way I am) what I AM judging is her decision to put 19 OTHER children that she already has in a position of emotional and mental anquish over loosing their mother.

What a lot of anti-abortionists question is does the right to 'your own body' outweigh an unborn child's rights? In this case I would argue that the right to decide to push 'your own body' to the limit is over ridden by the responsibilities you incur when you decide to have 19 children.

Because I speak from experience here when I say that there is no way in heck that he will be able to manage all those kids and meet their needs without the organizational skills and drive of that woman. My husband wouldn't be able to manage 3.

They've made their lives our business. They put pictures of their dead child on Twitter. If they didn't want "nosy busybodies" passing judgment on them, they wouldn't have a weekly television show built around the premise of them pumping out children.

A man can handle his kids as well as any woman, if he's willing. A vagina doesn't give someone special powers when it comes to caring for kids.

It's their choice and no one else's. And huge families have been happening since time immemorial. Sure, their show invites comment, but in the end it's their life and they are not burdening anyone else with their lifestyle.
