The movie was a fairly enjoyable experience, but the "twist" was nowhere near properly set up. It was a "wait, what?" moment instead of an "oh, shit, I totally missed the clues" moment. See The Prestige for an example of how to do it effectively. It's also one of those scenarios where the guy's master plan is so incredibly detailed and complex, was thought up years before hand, and relies on so many things beyond his control from spoiling it, that it makes it hard to suspend disbelief.
