Both a general thread and a specific question. In one of the teasers there is a second-long shot of an alien who turns round to look at the camera. It looks incredibly like Christopher Eccleston in make up but it can;t be or this would be all over the web - I can find nothing. Does anyone know who it might be if not Doctor the Ninth? Clip is here:http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VxNXnqRZp1Q Alien in question on 27 seconds.
Mmm not sure.... dont think its Chris Ecclestone... might be wrong though Can't wait for the new season
What's with this stupid trend of adding "nu" to everything? nuBSG nuTrek nuDoctor Who nuSuck my arse Besides, the David Tennant series ain't nuDoctor Who. It's simply a continuation (albeit with a ten year hiatus) of sci-fi's best and longest-running television series.
Yeah, it's like nuKids on the Block. Or something. It probably stems from the current fad to remake everything. Nobody has an original idea anymore.
It might be a continuation, but they've streamlined the format, tightened the pace of the stories, left out most of the embarassing bits, stopped making villians out of tinfoil, and introduced characters and emotions. There's been a definite upgrade. Perhaps we could call it Doctor Who 2.0?
I think the whole "nu", thing started with nuMetal. Which is fitting, when one considers metal went into hibernation about as long as the Doctor did.
It starts in the UK on saturday evening. Not sure how long behind scifi will be. But the ep will be on torrents by saturday evening/night US time probably
I don't wanna watch some shitty fucking torrent file. I want a proper broadcast to view on a decent-sized screen, from my couch, in proper fucking surround sound.
I have had zero problem with burning one of the 350 MB torrents DLs to a DVD and enjoying it on my widescreen. You get almost exactly the same screen resolution as you'd get by watching it on Sci-Fi which isn't a Hi-Def channel anyway.
I did the same thing with Life on Mars. Although I will be buying the dvds when they arrive over here.
No DVD writer in my home PC, and even if I went to the trouble of installing one, downloading the file, and saving it to DVD, the fuckin thing probably wouldn't play on my PS2.
Looking at the scifi website they dont seem to have any definite plans for who s3 yet. It might be a long wait... pity
Actually, before I got my current DVD player, the PS2 was the only gadget I had in the house that WOULD play torrent burned DVDs. Of course, since you have no DVD burner, that's a moot point.
Imagine that, you have to wait a few weeks for a British show, the way we have to wait for the American one's.
Anybody know which ep Derek Jacobi is in? I have to say, hearing that he was going to guest star had me drooling in anticipation, he's one of my all-time favourite actors.
So what did lot you think? Didn't think it was that bad, nice sfx and not to bad basic setup for the new number two. shame about the screwdriver.
