So, have the unicorn farts which fueled his campaign finally dwindled? Has the Chosen One finally reckoned the fragrance of failure which has become the hallmark of his presidency?

I hope he campaigns everywhere. :diacanu:

But then, I'm hoping for a lot of fail from the Dems.

The implication seems to be that if the Republicans returned to power it would be a winning scenario somehow, when recent history has not shown that to be in any realm of possibility.

I'm confused as to what people in this thread are deriving any sense of joy from.

Probably same as some of us Brits when Labour got hoofed out - after being constantly baseball-batted across the back of the head for years, merely being repeatedly punched in the face now seems like something of a relief.

Sometimes life is about deluding yourself into accepting the lesser pain as a pleasure :marathon:

    Where is the implication?

Where is the joy to which you're referring?

Could be non-specific schadenfreude, but why would he hope for a return to power of people he hates as badly, or worse?
That would make him a bit of an idiot, and he's not an idiot, so...so you can see how I naturally concluded....

Of course, you're not smart enough to conclude the other option, that it's just funny that your boy knows that he's a liability to his own party, huh?

Actually, a Republican Congress and a Democrat President might get something done.

    It has happened before.

Doggone it, I was hoping Obama was offering to stay away from . . . I dunno, the economy, Arizona's sovereignty, something to do with policies. :( That's an important skill to have in a politician, you know, and it'd be nice if he showed himself capable of it.

You think my laughing at Obama having to swallow his overweening pride and tacitly admit that he is a liability to his own party is some kind of joy?

Nah, it's the evil snicker of a bitch who enjoys watching a corrupt shitstain helplessly wriggle against the wall he backed himself into....regardless of political stripe.

I wonder how many of those members of Congress that gave Obam carte blanche and now realize that they are about to get fired are wondering if the cushy administration jobs and consulting gigs will really materialize or if they will get discarded like I discard a kleenex full of dicksnot after rubbing one out to cyberporn.

Like when Mcain bashed Falwell, then suckled up to Falwell?
Indeed, sold out every principled stand he every made one by one?
    That was some funny stuff.
And it doesn't matter the political stripe.
There were so many threads on it too, I'll just go dig those up...oh, wait..

If not, there'll be a schadenfreude thread for the Repugs being tossed out, I'm sure.

    :)

    I didn't cheerlead anyone either.
Hasn't stopped me from being called one by incredibly stupid people, but ah, whaddyagonnado?
Me, I try to have fun with it.

that's what I want - a NEAR takeover - enough to stop any more cliff diving but not enough for Big O to spin 2012 as "my stuff was working until Republicans mucked it up"

Wait - you are now contending that RightForge was uncritically slobbing McCain's knob all through 2008?

    Seriously?

I'm on record as saying it will never dramatically improve again until in crashes much harder than it ever has before.

Who's in office at most alters the rate of descent, nothing more.

This should be no secret to you.

    A fascinating, and amusing fable.

The latter half, requires faith in one's fellow man, and their ability to rebuild, and learn from their mistakes.

And yet, to assume that this crash will happen, requires a jaundiced lack of faith in one's fellow man.

I always wonder how that exactly works...

Men are scum....until you beat on them hard enough, then they suddenly find virtue?

Why, it's resembles Abrahamic religion in its utter lack of cohesion.

Oh, there was whining and ass-bleeding about Mcain as a choice, no doubt.
But a schadenfreude thread like this about the fall of an elephant, even one as despised as Mcain?
Don't wait for it to happen.
People are fucking weird like that.
