The same reason people keep trying to leave the "wonderful paradise" that is Arkansas. (because it smells like farts and you live in poverty)
I've never in eleven years of posting on Wordforge seen any one poster try as hard as you do to be this ass backwards retarded. T'Bonz did TrekBBS a favor by bouncing your ass from there.
I'm not the one predicting that Cuba will fall into perpetual civil war if Castro falls. Communist dictatorships have collapsed in Nicaragua and military dictatorships have collapsed in Argentina, Chile, and a host of other countries without bringing about a bloodbath of Middle Eastern proportions.
The main point that went whizzing past both your brain cells is that we don't need to play World Police to yet another country that hasn't asked for us to help this. I'm not the most versed person in World History, but since it's you posting about it I your example, I'm gonna assume that these were all countries that decided, with no outside influence from us, to get rid of their respective governments.
Sometimes we overthrew them directly, sometimes we funded groups to overthrow them, and sometimes we just stayed out of it. The only real problems have been communist insurgencies supported by the Cubans.
And how, pray tell, was that happening when we made sure they were cut off financially from much of the world? I'm sure this little bit of historical fanfiction you spew next will be hilarious.
Cuba sent a couple thousand military personnel into Nicaragua, just like they've done with Venezuela. When we invaded Grenada we captured over 600 Cuban soldiers. Cuba has always maintained a huge military, dwarfing countries like Brazil or Canada. They've fought in Yemen, Syria, Algeria, Angola, Ethiopia, Mozambique, Libya, Iraq, Afghanistan, and other places. And the numbers are sometimes quite large, sometimes with tens of thousands in a particular country. And their army stays deployed for long stretches, so about 400,000 Cubans served in Angola, where thousands of them died. You see, they were cut off financially from the US, not from the Soviet Union.
I was about to cite JohnM and KIRK1ADM. Then I remembered they didn't have to try. I'm still not convinced it doesn't come naturally (or as a result of too much exposure to lead) to gturner though.
So you never knew that Cuba has a huge military that caused lots of trouble all around the world? Let's compare. Canada has about 60 tanks. Cuba has over 1,100. Canada has 20,000 soldiers. Cuba has 60,000, down from 150,000. Canada has about 20,000 people in the Army reserve. Cuba has 1.5 million. Cuba is one of the most militarized states in the world.
Please stop saying you want to go to Cuba before it's ruined Interestingly, Cubans have come up with a new trick to get to the US. When their raft is within sight of a Coast Guard vessel, they apparently shoot themselves so they have to get medevac'd to a Florida hospital instead of repatriated back to Cuba.
