Not that I really do much anyways, but the time has come that I step down as Red Room mod. If you need me somewhere I'll serve, if not I'll step aside and give up my cherished Who's Online powers.

Getting into the busy season, I can't keep up with the RR threads, not sure it's the role for me, and I despise Clyde.

You may move to another room. You may not quit the staff. Request denied. You didn't fill it out in triplicate. I shall have Clyde show you the proper way to fill out the forms.

No one has the green room right now. I tried to quit a while back, but I think I was also denied :chris: because I have blue/white at the moment.

You should have seen the blackmail he used when I tried to quit.

    It was ugly, man...ugly. :calli:

So, who do we get in there who will actually do some work? ;)

What positions are open? Green Room?

The farmer is in there. We'll need to find someone for TRR though. I'm sensing a emergency reserve activation clause, and I'm initiating a stop-loss order.

You're all here for the duration. :bergman:

Actually, I don't think we do.

Not if we just have the Supermods and Administrators handle it as necessary. We'll get more and better coverage that way.

If evenflow takes The Green Room then we have the White Room and the Blue Room.

White could be handled by SMs/Admins until the right person is found.

The Blue Room needs a close eye, someone who values privacy and someone who will bring the hammer down when necessary. When Nick and I discussed it, if she would consider it, we thought it would be a good spot for Cass. It plays to all her strengths and no one will get away with anything there...

I dunno . . . Cass might be a bit too zealous in there. :calli:

Is there anyone not currently on staff or who's ever been on staff that we could put there? Help break the "eliteforge" thing a little if we bring in someone new.

The Red Room being the initial moderating assignment does make sense, in many ways it is the easiest forum to moderate. Only three things aren't allowed: Illegal activity, another member's personal info and porn.

Breaking an image shouldn't even factor in.

And c'mon, eliteforge is a tame insult.

Actually Clyde, I was thinking of the Blue Room, not the Red. And "eliteforge" might be a tame insult, but it makes me all warm and fuzzy to cut the legs out from under the trolls, even a little. :D

When it comes to Blue, all I'd say is that my gut feeling is that it's a room for someone a bit older to mod - not necessarily a codger, but somebody well out of their teens... ;)

Timing is off for me to step up, sorry. After May I'm probably going to be in a downturn at work but right now I'm scrambling to get things done.

[action=faisent]grumbles about "The Business" signing contracts that make tech people go insane.[/action]

Nick knows some of the stuff I've got going on; if you still need help come mid-May let me know.

Thanks  But there are people who are much more qualified for that particular room as I hardly read the threads. What about one of the youngsters? TKO seems a good choice, and everybody likes her.

TKO has the potential to be a great Blue mod - one day. But given some of the stuff that people share in there, I think a little more experience of life is needed first - mods sometimes act in a barkeep/agony aunt role.

Just a random thought, how old is our youngest observer? Because if we wanted a teen eye cast over things, I can't think of anyone better, and it would give her an idea of how things work around here...

I think TKO would be cool. Seems mature enough IMHO. If the admins want it, I can volunteer as co-mod to look over her shoulder a bit
