TKO seems to have wisdom far beyond her years most of the time. I'd have no problem seeing her patrolling the Blue Room.

The Red Room, being our main forum, has (and always should be) reserved for our most experienced and qualified moderators.

Promote from within and replace that vacancy instead.

Part of why it might not be a bad idea for SMs and Admins to share the responsibility of the RR. Broader range of coverage, timewise and more people to move around the threads and such.

TKO...I dunno. The Blue Room is a sensitive assignment. The Green Room, I'd be more open to it. I'm on the fence, so far.

No. He's too hot-tempered and does not have a light touch. The Blue Room gets sensitive sometimes, as others have observed. I'm still thinking TKO would be a good choice. Especially if Cass backs her up on the QT.

I would have less reservations with the Cass as back-up scenario.

TKO is great. I really like her go-getter attitude and I think she'll make a good mod one day, but she hasn't even been here a year yet and she has fewer than 4,000 posts. I think we can find someone that's been around a little longer, someone that knows the score. Also, the median age on this board is higher than any board I've ever visited. A fairly significant percentage of our memberbase is not going to like taking orders from a teenager. Kyle brought a lot of the punishment on himself but, the curse of the teen mod is that everyone knows how to push their buttons.

Oh, and she has yet to have the trial by fire. She's never been attacked by anyone, not even a troll. Until she's had it out with someone, we don't know how she'll react.

So, you want me to unleash on her, trial by fire, is that what you're sayin?

The second sentence (excluding "No.") is why I the first sentence works, IMO. I don't disagree with TKO on principle, but like Elwood said, too inexperienced.

The reasoning behind TKO is:

- a fresh face.
- somebody who's liked by all
- quite smart IMHO
- totally unsuspicious when it comes to Eliteforge

Personally I'd welcome some input by somebody new. As much as I despise the stupid Eliteforge talk, it's not completely outlandish. I mean, let's be honest - it's always the 'old guard' in one way or another, and positions are shuffled between a few people only. Somebody who's not been here from the beginning could be the best argument against those not completely untrue accusations. I'd also not say that not having been under fire is a bad thing - means there's nobody who hates her guts. And inexperienced? We all were at some point

Of course Elwood's right with the age thing. But then she's not that much younger than say, Nick.

Not necessarily a great thing. It helps, but my worry, along with not being tested, is that there will be a great temptation to let some things slide so she can go on being liked by everyone. We all know that being a mod means that, ocassionaly, you're going to piss someone off.

I didn't pick Nick to serve as a mod when he first came on the staff.

But, he's had his trial by fire, several times in fact, and he's earned the right to be here.

That's why I offered my services to housebreak her

Of course it's your decision but it might be a good idea to bring in some fresh faces and ideas. Just my €0.02
