and learn how to use it to it's full effectiveness of course. :hail:Cutting through bone like it's nothing. You could cut a human in half with practice - insane. BTW at the end one guy says "any metal is harder than bone" and is pretty much full of shit. If the mass of the metal is small and thin (though moving insanely fast) no matter how sharp, it will fold up like a butterfly wing. For example bow hunters using compound bows that shoot 300 feet per second. They hit heavy bone and that lightweight frail steel broad-head disintegrates. While a heavy solid broad-head moving half that fast breaks through heavy bone with no problem. Anywho, this has to be about the most bad-ass close in fighting weapon on the planet.

    Yup.

I have two of those, that will pretty much do the same thing in the video. They were made to be used, and are not decoration or display pieces, but made to be used and will take off your leg sword.

I saw some videos comparing the European long sword (developed at about the same time, but different continents) and the Katana won out in every single category. :scary: But agree I won't have a weapon that won't be used - I don't care for "wall hangers" only for decoration. When I get one of course I won't have the skills of somebody using them for many years, but I will find my own techniques that fit my personal mindset and philosophy.

Screenshot on the vid made me think it was going to be a Cold Steel promo. Yeah, a proper sword will cut through bone with ease. I have a Cold Steel civil war replica saber that cut straight through a pig skull without even slowing down.

Yup. My katana will do this same thing. A decent European sword will also be able to slice and dice flesh and bone in the same manner. There's nothing magical about a katana. Swords are designed to inflict massive trauma, period.

Yes I know swords are all designed to do about the same thing. Maybe it was the testing methods, but the katana beat the long sword in all areas. I do know the craftsmanship making them was (and is) holy shit incredible. Just to sharpen one properly is a skill in itself!
