"Operation: garamet!" Is a Success

Ladies and Gentlemen:

I thank you so much for the amusement you've provided, particularly over the last month or so. Many of us have been working towards garamet’s fall from grace for a long time, but until now I thought it in our best interests for me to disappear and allow others whose personae were a little less acerbic to carry out our plan: to maneuver garamet into revealing herself as the petty troll she is. But now, modesty aside, I feel the need to gloat, just a little bit, and to admit that I have indeed had a small hand in this from the very beginning.

But I also want to say that I am greatly impressed by remarkable job you have done, and I think everyone deserves a lot of credit for so carefully and patiently outing one of the most persistent trolls to scourge Wordforge and TrekBBS. Thank you all for allowing me to be a part of this, and thank you to those who agreed to help when I passed along word of this operation.

The careful work of almost two years has come to a head, particularly over the last few days. We have been enormously successful in making garamet reveal her true self to one and all, and though there are those few holdouts who still remain loyal to her, we expected this; their blindness is incurable. We can rest proud in the knowledge that she did this to herself; we didn't lie, distort the truth, or obfuscate in any way. We just let her self-destruct in front of the entire board, while we pointed out her numerous inconsistencies, acting together to find the posts necessary to condemn her with her own words. Bravo. Truly, garamet is hoist on her own petard.

I’m not sure how much more we need do, though. We have succeeded, but now I worry lest we actually drive the woman into complete paranoia. She already sees plots against her everywhere she turns, and while her belief that I was involved in this was indeed justified, her notion that all that has transpired was the result of a massive, PM-conducted conspiracy (shades of Hillary Clinton and the Vast Right-Wing Conspiracy™!!) was, of course, ridiculous, as many of those who came to see garamet for what she is wouldn't have anything to do with a plot in which I was involved. Their contributions were strictly their own, appreciated though they were (and are).

Don’t get me wrong, though--I think we should all continue to point out garamet’s foolishness and repeatedly call her on her bullshit, but I don’t think we need to coordinate our efforts anymore. If everyone just responds to her as you see fit, I’m sure we’ll continue to witness these repeated meltdowns. Thanks to our efforts, it has become child’s play to call attention to her web of lies and deceit, and she has thus become quite ineffective in trapping even those of her own political bent.

Bravo also to all of you who were able to get past garamet's rhetorical flourishes and bait-and-switch tactics and see what she was really doing. Collectively, Wordforge is far more clued in than TNZ, where many are still too dense to understand what garamet is really all about. Wordforge and Number_6 may not all have gotten along in the past, but I congratulate your insight; you have truly won my respect, though I know that for some of you, that’s worth fuck-all.

Finally, bravo to those of you who have played the good cop roll throughout this operation. I don’t think garamet would have pushed things as far as she has had she not believed that she had more people in her court than she truly does. You helped to perpetuate this misperception on her part, and your acting abilities are nothing short of amazing. I’ll not out you, of course, and neither will anyone else involved in the operation. Your anonymity is safe, my friends.

So, garamet, in the words of Peter Octavian--who is not my dual, by the way, but you'll doubtless continue to believe he is--"neener neener neener."

But before you begin your righteously indignant (and petulant) response, my dear, keep in mind that neither I nor anyone else has really done anything wrong here, so don't play the whining victim card. Like I said, you're hoist on your own petard, condemned by your passive-aggressive bullshit and your overwhelming ego.

I’d invite you to apologize to all and sundry, and to take some time off to do some greatly needed self-examination, but I doubt that will happen. It is, after all, always someone else’s fault, isn’t it? That’s the leftist mantra, a pathology which you have transferred from the microcosm of your individual life to the macrocosm of the world around us.

And I see in your most recent posts that you are indeed going down this road. Everyone. Is. Trolling. Garamet. Poor, picked-on little girl. Let's all repeat the mantra: "It's not garamet's fault." She can't possibly have done anything wrong high up on that horse of hers.

Perhaps now you’d like to say something about the fact that I wrongfully surmised you might drive a Prius, when in fact you brag of riding a bicycle? Or maybe you’d like to generate sympathy by accusing me of insensitivity about your ocular difficulties because I had not divined the reason why you do not drive a car? (Ironic, now, in light of your complaints that you felt others had expected you to divine facts about the whole Charlton Heston/Chuck thing, but holding others to a standard to which you refuse to hold yourself is part and parcel of being garamet, isn’t it?)

Oh, and to the staff: can I get a smilie that sits and drinks a cocktail rather than sitting and eating popcorn? I'd really like one to use in the shitfest that will erupt in this thread.
