It's telling that's what you inferred from that post even though it mentions nothing about racism at all, Coach.

I doubt it. You seem to suffer from the same affliction I have, known as "hope springs eternal." Even in the face of overwhelming odds, that little voice that says "the right and just thing will be done," persists. I'm afraid it's terminal.

they can "take it" anyway they want. If they try to get violent over it in Augusta (not likely) they will suffer the consequences accordingly (very likely).
Thankfully Augusta has things "dialed in" pretty well. Blacks shoot each other up on a nearly daily basis, whites shoot each other up less often, and 99 percent of the people (of any race) who get shot by cops have it coming. A couple of days ago some black cop got shot/killed by black non-cops in some off-duty ""domestic issue." Crooked cop got what was coming to him? :chris: Who knows, the cops are very tight-lipped about it. Regardless nobody gives a shit. The cop is black, the guys who killed him and the ones helping the shooters evade capture are black, the sheriff is black, the mayor is black, so nobody can drag race into the equation.
This is how you run a city.

    1. Fuck you. :)

    2. Given the consequences Philando Castile faces for complying with the law and not resisting at all, fuck you again, and fuck the police. I hope there are riots. I hope there is property damage. I hope cop cars get set on fire. None of that is my first choice, but since it appears to be the closest thing to consequences the police are likely going to face, so be it. :)

As usual, there's far more to this story than you'll ever hear from hysterical protesters and internet SJW morons like 14th Douche.

Let's start with the fact that Castille isn't the choir boy he's being portrayed as, having been stopped upwards of 50 times by police for traffic crimes and having been arrested at least 22 times. This guy was well known to law enforcement.

Makes you wonder about the public school system, and why they'd employ someone like this to be around kids.

Regardless a crime rate 110 percent above the national average? Cool! I'll take that over Atlanta which is triple that. Then again they have more liberals so that's to be expected.

Serious question for all: How do you think the black community and black individuals in general should respond to this verdict, and other similar verdicts? If the authorities aren't willing to enforce the law or punish murderers, does vigilante justice become a necessary evil? Should minorities start engaging in proactive self-defense when encountering "law enforcement?" :chris:

(Keep in mind that Cliven Bundy got to force an armed standoff to protect some cows he was grazing illegally, and that his supporters got to trash a bird sanctuary for... no apparent reason.)

To be fair in this instance, the authorities were willing. The jury wasn't.

every black person will have to react the same way every white person who is shot by a cop reacts I guess! Since (unless we were just born yesterday or just arrived on our shore yesterday) we all know what can occur anytime we encounter law enforcement, we assume all risk when we don't comply 100 percent with their commands & demands. But if you yourself want to make a statement the next time you interface with law enforcement, I support and even encourage your decision 100 percent!

For starters, I'm tired of the "__community", people don't all think alike. Vigilante justice only works in comic books. We desperately need criminal justice reform and there are Republicans in congress who believe this (Rand Paul), so if people like you and I and Zombie, for example, can agree on this then not all hope is lost. The problem is it's an uphill battle that us little guys probably won't win for the foreseeable future. What we should focus on is what we do agree on and go from there. Unfortunately, cops always have the upper hand and that goes for all "races" and I don't know what can be done about that short of an actual revolution or a constitutional convention. That's my honest opinion.

Dude was a registered legal gun owner. How does this happen if he'd been arrested 22 times?

This could (not a guarantee) be one reason why Yanez the cop was so hair-triggered. The "Warrior Spirit" is a must-have to keep more soldiers alive in combat! Part of the bigger problem of the militarization of our police forces? :chris: That said a warrior mindset is extremely important in winning a violent encounter (the body follows the mind's commands after all - you have to have the will to employ your skills) but more importantly you have to have good judgement as to determining when a situation is truly violent. "When all you have is a hammer yada yada......"

Documents provided by the St. Anthony Police Department also show Yanez attended a training seminar in 2014 called “Bulletproof Warrior,” a two-day course by an Illinois company that teaches students how to “utilize their ‘Warrior Spirit’ in a practical way so they can WIN hostile confrontations on the street,” according to promotional materials for the seminar.

Not to Monday morning quarterback, but Philando could have said "I am reaching for my wallet! I have a gun permit and a gun! I am reaching for my wallet!" right from the git-go versus waiting until he started actually moving. The account I read said that "I have a gun in the car!" was not the very first thing out of his mouth - it should have been, rather than the last thing out of his mouth.

As for being pulled over and charged upward of two dozen times does not preclude you from being able to lawfully carry a firearm. If anything it should preclude you from legally driving! :brood: And a lengthy record does indeed attest to Philando's character & judgement! How you ask?

    1. Philando was dumb as fuck - how many times do you need to get pulled over for bad driving before you catch on? This leaves to my second option:
    2. Philando didn't give a fuck - we all know the traffic rules, we just don't always follow them. Yes we all forget or make mistakes - but as many times
as he had been pulled over? Nobody has that much bad luck with cops.

Granted IMO the cop was guilty - but I wasn't on the jury. This leaves (in my mind) some unanswerable question:
    1. are jury members intimidated by cops (and by proxy the entire law enforcement/penal/justice system) and fear reprisal if they side against them? :chris:Seriously, it's something to consider. Most cops do "stick together" when one of their own is attacked. Has anyone studied the effect on jurors?

    2. is the right to legally drive a constitutional right? It seems to be in the US because the system sure guarded Philando's right to drive despite
demonstrating the inability to safely do so! Double-digit numbers of weapon mistakes would surely prevent you from getting a permit to carry a
firearm as well it should. How dangerous a driver do you need to be in this country/state to be prevented from driving?

    3. is military focused combat training a good idea for the average cop? Granted there are no "routine stops" unless you are Sheriff Andy
Taylor. While some law abiding citizens carry guns at the ready, nearly all violent criminals do - so each traffic stop can be your last.

Saying a black guy got pulled over a lot so that means he was a bad driver or a bad guy is pretty stupid. Black people get pulled over all the time no matter what. They "fit the description" which is copspeak for "let's go fuck with some black people." Somehow this "description" they have always seems to consist of one word. :garamet:

And from the article I read, all the tickets seemed to result from a lack of money. Broken taillight, driving on a suspended license, driving without insurance, stuff like that. I don't think any of them were DUI, hit and run, etc. Also he was driving an oldsmobile or somesuch. His sister said she got pulled over frequently when she borrowed his car. Lemme see if I can find the article...

Bah, I can't figure out how to paste it here, but you can google "The driving life and death of Philando Castile".

It says that of the 46 times he was pulled over, only 6 were for things a cop could see from outside the car (speeding, broken muffler, etc.)

I think everyone in the "authorities" is shocked by this.

Hell, I bet the defense lawyer had that, "oh shit we won " look for half a second in the courtroom before he caught himself and switched to the "of course we won cause I'm the best :storm:" look.

As for the rest of your stupidity......

It would be very bad for vigilante justice to start happening. Because if you think things are bad now you just wait until that starts happening. See how fast more people end up dead and locked up.

So, if he was well known by law enforcement, shouldn't they have known he wouldn't pull a gun on them? Or at least much less likely than some unknown being pulled over for the first time?

As someone upthread pointed our, this was a miscarriage of justice on the behalf of the jurors, not the police department for once.

So, yeah. Railing against the police in this instance wouldn't do much. It does highlight the bias in pur cpunyry against blacks in general, however.

Guys, I speak as one who really thinks this verdict was garbage and a miscarriage of justice, but this has a LOT more to do with the fact that police are generally given the benefit of the doubt by the public (e.g. the jury) than anything having to do with the victim being black.

In case no one noticed, the cop wasn't exactly a white guy either. Or does white racism ONLY extend to black people? I am not sure what the latest PC narrative on that is. I lost track when George Zimmerman became a "white hispanic".
