The Year in Review. Slightly exceeded my one-model-a-month goal. Links to more pics: http://www.inpayne.com/models/models_history.html
Found some Iraq pics in my garage! Nothing bloody or anything. Clockwise from upper left: 1. Tanks passing our trucks on their way to a battle and...WAIT A MINUTE! What are we doing between the tanks and the bad guys in the first place? You're going to hear from my lawyer! 2. Donkey rides for ONE DOLLAR! You had me at "donkey" Akbar. 3. We saved this lizard from a sure death. 4. "Return your seats to their upright position." 5. Say hello to my little friend! 50 cal turret mounted P.O.S. that jammed up after a few shots. 6. Captured prisoners getting on the "paddy wagon" to go to the main camp down south. They get a free haircut and all the MRE's they can eat. Donkey rides are on their dime however. We're not running a charity here you know!
My new TV. It's a 32" Hisense H3E LED HDTV. It replaces my 19" AOC TV I got back in 2008/2009. My dad got it for me as a late Christmas gift. He found out my TV was starting to go out, and so he woke me up this morning with a big box full of TV goodness. I've already watched Galaxy Quest, Star Trek VI, V, and IV. Star Trek III is next. I have never seen any of the classic Trek movies on a large screen. They've all been seen on my 19", so it's like I'm at the theater watching totally new movies, and I love it! A few shots of the TV: You look like a cadet review! Shit's about to go down:
From the look of it, I'm guessing chipotle mayo. For some reason, there's a fascination in America with putting that stuff on seafood and sushi rolls (like in the Facebook photo I posted a few weeks ago).
Well, a lomg standing dish here is prawn cocktail, the sauce for whoch is Tomato Ketchup, lemon juice, salad cream (do you guys have that) and tabasco. It's quite tangy so I sort of understand the spiciness. That said, I my experiences with chipotle have always been smokey.
First model of 2015 - Trumpeter Models' 1/48 Westland Whirlwind. Decent kit, but the decals are very inaccurate. The white codes should be a tad smaller (wrong font!), and the same "sky" color as the fuselage band. Love the plane, though - very cool looking, IMHO. It didn't do very well in service, though, and was obsoleted early in the war. http://www.inpayne.com/models/planes/whirlwind1.html
From Christmas break, so totally still a 2014 picture. KJ just likes the plain cheddar ones though. They did have some fancier stuff for sampling, and the ones I tried were tasty.
