perfect timing guys! It seems like Shooter's cat just spotted Forbin's squirrel on the fence! This could get ugly..........
A fella named Don Shoko has come out with a limited run 1/48 resin model kit of Sky 1 from the old British TV series UFO. I had my local auto store mix up a batch of Ford Oyster Gold, which is reportedly the car color they used on the model in 1970. That came out too bright, so I gave the model a coat of Tamiya transparent "smoke" acrylic. The result seems close enough to what we saw on screen. Unfortunately Don's resin windows came out milky rather than clear, so I left them out. I'm pretty happy to finally have a nice model of this baby that isn't a Japanese toy.
Had one of them buzz my work site (a roof) on Sunday... Probably looking for free ranging purse dogs. Anyway, me with some of the fiends, err, friends...
It's the turkey vultures in the neighborhood that get a little disturbing. One evening when my wife and I were sitting on the front porch, there was one sitting on the roof across the street staring at us. I mean, we're old, but come on, ya gotta wait.
Great cardinal pic! We have a couple of nesting pairs in our backyard - one of the most beautiful, colorful birds in the US if you ask me.
The commute home Thursday afternoon. "Chance of afternoon thundershowers." 1: Coming around a bend in scenic Paterson NJ. Wellll THAT don't look good. 2: A few miles later on another highway which has traffic jams if it fucking drizzles: Yup, not good. 3. After getting off the stalled highway and taking surface roads home for 30 minutes, 2 miles from home:
Enhanced to the gills to get it to show, but today's sudden violent storm (they're daily now, apparently), left this behind:
yes we just had our daily rain a few minutes ago. I had rolled my car windows down a bit because I am planning on driving it later in the day. I was taking a nap and heard the rain and raced out to roll em' up. The driver side window chose that particular time to play "I'm hitting the top and coming right down again...HA HA!" So I got rained until I got the window to cooperate. Creedence Clearwater Revival knew about the important questions in life: "Who'll Stop The Rain?"
This is my rock. There are other rocks like it, but this is... hey get off my ass, fly, I said this is MY rock!
whose baby is that? The older I get the more I appreciate babies - I can't wait to see my grand daughters around Christmas or so! And my son is seeing a woman who seems to be a real "keeper" so who know what looms on that baby front?
yes that is a fun age! That first laughing & smiling sort of makes up for all that screaming & crying they have been doing up to that point!
