Agreeing on doing an asshole thing doesn't mean they were right to do so. They never did come up with a real reason for a permaban for him that amounted to more than just not liking him.

I mean, let's see, they attempted to restrict his account and keep him locked up in a sub-forum they made especially for him because they didn't like him (with the implication that anyone else they didn't like would end up there, too). When they were called out on how completely antithetical to the board this was, they attempted to shadowban him. When this was revealed to the board, they permabanned him. Not exactly on the up and up.

I always find it fascinating when someone keeps saying "I'm right" when they only know what they see on the user side of things. I could see every account involved, every action taken on this board, everything he did. You saw and still see, maybe, 1/10th of the picture, and yet you're so damned certain of how right you are. You have no idea. None.

I've already discussed what happened. The staff has already discussed what happened ad nauseam. You will not be convinced because this is a moral crusade for you, and @Captain X. It's not about being correct, or about understanding, it's about being "right," about defending your cause. This issue has been discussed to death, but when you get a burr up your ass, you bring it back up. I suspect it will be brought up more often in the future, because every once in a while, some posters feel like reheating the shit they've let go cold for a while. That's another thing that bothers me: the entitled whining. You have no right to anything. Nothing. This board shares its shelter threads, openly discusses in the Help Desk why people are warned/banned, and has changed their minds in the past when it came to administrative decisions, based on the feedback of the community. This is done because Wordforge is pretty square dealing with people. Not everything can be discussed, but the vast majority of it is. That this isn't enough for you, that you feel you should be handed everything on a silver platter, that you feel because you've spent years acting like an asshole on the board you carry some kind of weight that requires the ears of people who owe you nothing? These people have been very good to you, and they were good to gturner, too, right up until he decided to push it all as far as he could go, and he did it at a time when the board community was teetering on the brink of instability. He took a stab at the bear, and the bear fucked him up. His loss. Actions do have consequences. Those were his.

And it should be pretty telling that so many people think that there was such a lack of actual substance to all that, that you still have people asking you to explain it even after all this time.
