    Yep, it's only international rates that suffer. My prop lightsabers from Texas were $45 shipping via FedEx International Economy to the UK but $90.74 USPS Priority International (and would take 6-10 days vs 3-6 with FedEx).

    Back when I used to send demo tapes and resumes, it cost less than $4 to ship USPS Priority Mail.

    Thirty-ish years later I just checked and it would cost about $8, depending on the destination.

    I very often was that kid, and 1. I paid attention to the other kid's reports, and used them as Cliffnotes, and faked it better 2. where I couldn't fake it, I was at least funnier.
