I can understand why Anc and other folks can get that impression, though. The first two polls were more than fair, and it's pretty clear from both that no one wanted to fuck with rep yet again.

This is really redundant. I don't support ripping the whole system out because a few people on both sides of the issue take it too seriously; but seriously. Enough is enough. We've had seven months of peaceful conversation and we've got old posters returning. We don't need this crap anymore.

I didnt understand the purpose of poll2 since poll1 showed the will of the membership.

The fact we have poll3 just adds weight to the already heavy opinion that we will continue to poll until the result changes.

Heres the thing though, with old rep defeated on so many occassions, putting it back now regardless of the results of poll 3 or poll333 will be unnaceptable.

Old rep has 3 big supporters, 2are current staff members, 1is a former staff member. If this is the reason why we are still doing this dance then enough of the pretence with polls, just fucking change it to the system you want and be done with it.

When the polls reach different conclusions, we'll have a poll to decide the winner.

3 chances isnt fair though. Surley by your logic if old rep wins on poll 3, we will need to make the decision based on a 'best of 5' polls if the goal is to make it fair.

When rep got changed originally, i was on the side of nu rep but in all honestly pretty ambivelant. I couldnt care to much either way. What pushed me towards nu rep was the behaviour of the old rep warriors, their toys being flung out the pram and grand declarations that rep was something they had 'worked hard to earn.'

If you are really intent on keeping them happy then just change the fucker and be done with it. Lanzman will change it back when he returns from walking the earth anyway.

Sometimes being a leader means making sure minority voices are heard, and sometimes it calls for telling those voices to fuck off. The rep whiners require the latter form of leadership. Do you have what it takes?

I read all this shit about Muad and a handfull of others being butthurt about it but it took changing the system to get at least three posters back who had gone walkabout apparently over rep, otherwise they would have come back anyway, right?

Why bother? We all know how it's going to turn out, either NuRep or the option that fucks everyone equally, turning it off which will so increase the bandwidth usage having to post a post instead of a comment.

nuRep sucks. It is a failure. It hasn't stopped trolling, it has just dragged down the level of discussion on the board. Hard to believe, I know, but there you have it.

That said, I don't know if changing it back will have any effect. Once you fuck something up, it is fucked up. Just ask General Motors.
