So for the last 5ish years my Walther PPK/S has been my trusty little pocket pistol. However since I was such a good boy all year long, Santa Clause brought me an LC9 for Xmas. Some side by side comparison shots:
Near about same size, lighter, 9mm v 380acp, and laser sight? Sorry ol' gal. I won't get rid of the Walther, I mean c'mon she's James Bond's pistol (alright, so not exactly, but pretty damn close), but she's gettin' retired to hidden behind couch cushion duty. Although as I put her away I thought I heard a muffled yell of "SEE IF YOU'RE STILL HELD UP AS A COMPARISON 90 YEARS AFTER YOU'RE INTRODUCED!!!!"
Nice. Is that just the light or the light & laser combo on the LC9? The slim / compact pistol I am hot for is the M&P SHIELD. As for a full size I got to play with a PPQ the other day and I am smitten. I need to rent one and see if it shoots as well as what everyone says. If it does I may just grab one.
You ever looked at the Kahr single stack 9s? I'm no fan of the Moonies, but a buddy of mine swears by his. I went with the LC9 b/c I loved my dad's LCP, and since I already have a 380 and no 9mm (Anne has a Taurus PT 24/7 Millennium, but that's hers) and it's not that much larger I went with the LC9.
I also have the LC9 (though mine doesn't have the laser sight ) and like it quite a lot. I find it especially accurate with the PMC Bronze factory ammo. Not really sure why. It is absolutely killer that we can have a full 9mm pocket pistol--with 7+1 capacity--that's as small as yesterday's .32s or .380s.
My father had one of those Kahrs. It was easily the crappiest handgun I've ever seen. Take down was a bitch, and it didn't want to feed the first round from a mag.
