My father restored one in the mid-70s. Metallic blue with a white rally stripe. I learned to drive a stick in that Sprite.
Just checking in for the first time this weekend. Sorry to hear about his injury but glad that he's doing better. Will keep him and you in prayer. Take good care of him.
Thanks folks! His head is a lot better now, just occasional "fuzzies" and mild headache. Of course, the flu is now making him feel like ass and he passed that gem on to me but that is just par for the course. I am just grateful he was wearing his hard hat...getting a concussion while wearing it makes me not even want to think of how bad it would have been if he had taken it off for some reason. The power of Wordforge's collective good will works its magic again!
If the flu that you two have is anything like what I had about a month back it will kick your butts and you'll down for about a week.
The one in my av is an austin healey sprite. They made them like that for 3 years then they made the sprite mark 2 and the MG midget mark 1 which is the squared version like mine in this picure
The one we had was a 1959 Austin Healy Sprite. As you can see, affectionately known as the "bugeye." It had been a rally racer, wrecked more than once, and had more bondo on it than actual metal.
Zel just called me and he went to see our mutual GP this afternoon. His head is fine now, but it seems he has a nasty bronchial infection, apparently it's going around right now. Unfortunately, there is little that can be done for that, but she did prescribe him some tylenol with codeine to help him get some solid rest and help with the pain he's having while coughing. On a related note...those who dwell in chat with me know I have been having trouble with my foot again...Zel took the opportunity to tell her I hadn't been there to see her because I can't freaking walk so she gave him a prescription for me too, thank god. I can't wait for the numbing blissfulness of oxycodone induced coma tonight. I haven't had decent sleep in almost two weeks now. So while the Garishes are walking/limping wounded, things are looking up.
Well, at this point all it has to do is dull the pain enough and I'll probably pass out on my own. I'm really tired but can't sleep, if you know what I mean.
