Do you support criminalising political activity that you consider leftist?

What you mean to say is that you have nothing but a general feeling of injustice because, well, America.

You're Irish, so I understand. If you people didn't have a seething anger towards everything, the earth might stop spinning on it's axis.

    Prove that.

That is a wonderful thought, but a little narrow.

As I recall in GW1, Kuwait and several other states in the region begged us to get involved, which is why the internation coalition was so large and once Saddam was pushed back, we left. In fact there was severe grumbling at the time at Bush Sr.'s refusal to remove Saddam.

Like most things, Rick, you know nothing of US foreign policy. I could teach you about it, but it would be as worthwhile to me as putting a goat in a tuxedo and teaching it to do the foxtrot.

Well, the World Court certainly seemed to think so, to give just one example, but the United States (where Bush was VP at the time) essentially just declared itself above the law.

Bush was VP to a political non-entity at the time, and thus shares responsibility. And I've already given other examples, which you dismissed out of hand.

I am familiar with the difference.

A Bush spokesman is now saying that President Bush made no statement about who he's voting for and that his vote is "private".

It's no secret the Bushes dislike Trump, especially Jeb.

I don't doubt he'd vote for Hillary. Might have just been said in jest. Might have been serious.

The walking back would be for the sake of Jeb's kid's political future.

Jeb has no political future nor does anyone with the last name of Bush.

Far as the topic at hand...is this really a surprise? Trump destroyed Jeb despite the millions of dollars that the Bush family connections got him. He was very nasty to the entire clan plus Bush 41 and Bill Clinton have become pretty close the last ten years.

Educate yourself. Reagan was in such bad shape they krpt him away from the media with few exceptions in 1984 and ge was a vegitable for nearly his entire second term.

Even Republicans admit this. You are just being an ignorant twat right now.

So worried about this American 'Hegemony". Tsk, Tsk.

Shouldn't you be out fire bombing a British checkpoint, or spray painting Maze prison? There's your hegemony. Have at it, man.

    FIGHT THE POWER!

Or, you could just continue bellyaching about the Yanks on the board.

    Endlessly.

No surprise that HW Bush is voting for Clinton. If Reagan were alive, he'd probably vote Clinton too. That's just how far off the rails the GOP has gone on under Trump.

Studies have shown that people who have Alzheimer's exhibit symptoms as far back as their 20s.
    https://www.yahoo.com/beauty/early-signs-of-alzheimers-disease-found-in-112519622602.html

    http://www.nytimes.com/2001/05/07/us/nuns-offer-clues-to-alzheimer-s-and-aging.html

After he left the White House, there were stories told by people who knew him that, before he announced he had Alzheimer's made him sound like he was merely disinterested in the day-to-day activities or even important matters in the White House when he was President. Such as him being unable to conduct any kind of business without index cards in front of him, which he would read from verbatim, and ignore everyone in the room as he did so. Or him mildly responding to something a visitor excitedly said to him, and then later rushing up to that visitor, and gushing to them with a similar story.

These, and many other stories by people who knew, and loved him, make it unlikely that he wasn't mentally impaired by either Alzheimer's or conditions arising after being shot. Just being put under anesthetic at his age, after the shooting, could have been enough to impair his mental abilities for the rest of his life. The disease is not something he, or his family, deserved, but it is what happened to him.

One of my grandfathers was clearly suffering from Alzheimer's before he died, but nobody in the family was willing to admit that a man who went from being intelligent, to somebody who resembled Dustin Hoffman in Rainman, had a problem. Nobody wants to admit that someone they loved is gone, even though their body still lives.

In one of his books, Oliver Sacks describes an Alzheimer's patient who was a world-renowned opera singer. Though the patient was unable to accomplish day-to-day things like feeding or bathing himself without help, he was perfectly able to dress himself up and give a fantastic performance on stage to audiences who never suspected he had Alzheimer's. If you're someone who's done a specific job for decades, even if your brain is nearly destroyed by Alzheimer's, you can perform that job well.

It was several years after he left office before anyone even suspected he was having issues. He wasn't diagnosed with it until 1994, two years into Bill Clinton's first term.
