LINK This is a great example of how people working for the greater good can achieve so much on their own without the need for gov'ts to be involved. We need more like this hero.
You know, older acrylic watch crystals yellow over time. I assume they don't have that problem with these?
Great story. The fact that this happened outside of external help is a bonus As for acrylic lenses yellowing? How long does that take and compare it to the lifespan of the patient. Even if they were to yellow before the patient dies better some sight, even if it's tinged, than none.
No, WF's is. "From each according to their means" is not a complicated concept. But it's too close to "whatever you do for the least of these" for some people's comfort.
^ When govt decides on wealth redistribution that's socialism. When private industry decides to use a sliding scale with their own private money that is not socialism.
At least that's a better theory than the socialism one. Or it's just a guy on his isn trying to do good in this world. Too bad we can't clone him.
Plenty of family docs in this country used to make accommodations for their working-class patients before insurance industry made that impossible.
Nothing! NOTHING!! If there aren't actual children crying actual tears at all times, a random selection of peasants must be rounded up and whipped. :bitch:
No thats still socialism. Its still forcing the rich to pay more than the poor simply because they can afford it. Now you can hang with the Occupy gang and fit in, in your own little way.
Not forcing. No one is making them go for the surgery. They are choosing to. In a socialist state, the rich have no choice but to pay for the poor. Nice try, but you get an F.
