We've been in Iraq for going on five years, and there have been over three thousand dead Americans, and untold number of civilians killed by thugs wanting to oppress people. But we have been trying to reach out to the Iraq people, especially the young. And the picture below proves it's working. If America gives no other cultural gift to Iraq than this, we've taught the Iraqi children "two in the pink, one in the stink".
I like the kid in front with the striped shit trying to figure out the sheer mechanics of using the Shocker on his friend in the hoodie.
Shouldn't those Iraqi children be chasing the soldiers out of town like all the propaganda suggests? :flow2:
This is graduation day from the US Army Brainwashing Camp. Regardless, they are now disqualified from any further leftist sponsored public opinion polls.
The kid behind the kid in the ASAH shirt is giving a shocker of a different sort... One in the pink, two in the stink.
Are the British military, D3 systems, the Iraqi government, ICRSS, the BBC, ABC, PIPA, the US Dept. of Defence, Zogby, Oxford Research, and the University of Baghdad all considered "leftist" now?
'Leftist' or not, it does, easily, confirm that any poll can be made to suggest anything you want it to suggest.
and another thing... Is that what that really means, or does it mean something else and soldiers ...being soldiers are just ... being soldiers ...
No, they couldn't possibly just be accurate. I mean - you found a dozen smiling kids with a soldier! What more proof do we need?!
All those kids obviously are just back from the numerous polls that show ALL Iraqis hate us. They're showing how many times they voted AND how many times they've suicide bombed.
I don't recall the question being "are we doing anything good in Iraq" but rather "should we be off in Iraq in the first place?"
To henryhill: I have one brother, 3 nephews, a niece and several cousins that have been over there and back - a couple of times, all have similar pictures and all were stationed in different parts of Iraq - one was even in Bahgdad and has similar pictures. Most of the pictures have adults in them also, because, just like anywhere else, most adults don't let their kids hang out with complete strangers .... Do you have any similar experiences, personally or vicariously you'd like to share to back up your claims?
As a lib, why are you bringing up the distinction now? I thought intentions were the only thing that mattered.
Nope. And it doesn't matter one jot. Anecdotal evidence is utterly meaningless when so comprehensively shat upon by very many scientific studies. Take a look for yourself. http://www.iraqanalysis.org/INFO/55
What? You have a problem with the word "invasion"? Either way, the site merely collects polling data from other sources, which include the Iraqi government and both the UK & US governments, like I said above.
The Wikipedia entry on The Shocker. Oh, and, what the fuck does Soldiers being Soldiers mean exactly? I don't think that any fascimile of the phrase boys will be boys can enter into the equation when gauging the actions of people in such positions of responsibility, and the responsibility of taking the lives of others is quite large.
Certainly nothing derogatory. I was a soldier. I married a soldier. a large part of my immediate and extended family are soldiers and sailers ... And no, not even close to 'boys will be boys' which I find at the least a cop out, at worst, offensive. Ever been in the military?
I'm a liberal now? Here I thought I was a moderate, what with my anti-taxation policies, gun rights policies, but firm support for pro choice movements and decreases in defense spending.
Actually the question was "can we teach Iraqi kids 'two in the snapper, one in the crapper'"? Obviously we can.
If they all become radical nutjobs.... I wonder if the normal believer in all things Islam gets 72 virgins when they die. Can you imagine teaching 72 women how to have sex? Seriously though....they are beautiful children. My brother sent many a picture home while he was in Iraq of all the friends he made. He said it helped to get down to their level and get to know them on a personal level. Which is exactly what Petreaus is doing....or implementing with the recent surge.
