I bought this a couple years ago and I can't recommend it enough. It got it as an everyday watch for me, 100M water resistance (actually think the proper rating is 20ATM,) durable design and self-winding for less than 50GBP. It's not the most accurate watch in the world - I'm not 100% but I'd wager it's 30 seconds off target per day, but that makes no difference if you don't mind correcting it once every week. They are still available off eBay for the same price. It looked a bit sad lately, worn ugly NATO-style strap - Vostok is infamous for poor straps. So I got a Hirsch replacement. They didn't have the one I wanted at my local watch shop but I just wanted something reasonable. It looks fabulous.
I wasn't sure about the proper room since the post discussed modding watches and will keep doing that.
I don't wear a watch anymore since I have a cell phone, but this was about all the watch I ever needed - about twenty bucks or something if memory serves. Mine got ripped off my wrist from getting hooked on equipment or furniture exiting a tent to escape a fire when I was in the sandbox in 2003. I wish I would have had time to search for it, but I wasn't missing my flight out of that place that's for sure!
It is rated 10ATM by them. However from what I see the design is identical to the Amphibia (with the gasket) and that one is rated at 200 meters. Feel free to youtube people testing Amphibia watches' water resistance. By the way I couldn't find that old thread but please merge.
That's a classy design tho, I think. Reminds me of this. I bought a Luch mechanical and a classic Amphibia.
